My birthday? |
I'm turning 27 on December 10th. My husband and I are looking to get away for the weekend (either the weekend of Dec 8 or Dec 15), but are unsure as to what we really feel like doing. I live in the New Englad area (close to New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, Boston, Connecticut) I need some ideas! Since I was injured back a month ago, nothing too strenuous like skiing or anything like that, just something fairly relaxing. One year we went to the theater to see a play, another year we went to a comedy club, another year we went and got a massage and had a very romantic evening in. This year, we wouldn't mind doing any of those things again, but, perhaps something different. Does anybody know of anything going on during those dates, or anything special or romantic, or fun to do on one's birthday? I'd love to hear ideas! Thanks. |

Go to Stowe, Vermont. It'll be cold but you can ride the tram up the side of the mountain. Then head over to Ben & Jerry's for a tour and ice cream. There are really good restaurants and shops. The Von Trapp family has an Austrian shop with Sound of Music stuff. We got engaged in Stowe so I know it's romantic. |

I would find a nice hotel in Boston and look on the web for a really nice restaurant (something you normally would think would cost way too much!) Maybe see a play or a movie you normally wouldn't get to see or do. Have fun enjoy each others company and have some time to reconnect. Oh an lots of romance! It is ok to spend a whole day sleeping because you were too busy the night before! |

A fancy picnic basket, filled with your sweetie’s favorite foods, truffles or other fancy sweet and a split of champagne, to be consumed at the beach, lakeside, or scenic location makes for a romantic birthday idea with memories that last for years.
To complete the romantic ambiance, bring nice glassware and plates, silver and cloth napkins. You can keep it a surprise right up until your reach your destination. Until then, make it seem more casual. “Hey, sweetie! What do you say we go for a picnic in the country?†|

I really love portland Maine, so I would say go there! It's a cute little city with a lot of charm. Old brick streets, lots of history and charm.
We are from Portland Oregon but went there for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! It should be beautiful around Christmas time.
If you do decide on that check out the Eastland Parkl hotel http://www.eastlandparkhotel.com/ We stayed there during our trip and were very pleased. They also have a lounge on the top floor of their hotel where you can see really nice views of the city.
Plus, there is lobster and if you are not from a area that has a lot of lobster, that is always nice on a birthday.
If you decide on Boston it's also really nice, and has a lot of culture. If you stay there, I like the Hyatt near the airport, close to the subway, and has beautiful views of the harbor from your hotel room. Can't beat a decent view from your room. |
