Okay so Orlando the obvious answer it is worth going to at least once. Disney is really amazing, and Universal is way cool!
With that said I cannot believe that nobody mentioned St. Augustine. This is the oldest city in the US! There is a ton of stuff to do here, some really nice beaches and the city is alive with history. You can see some amazing houses that are still standing from the 1700âs. Castillo de San Marco is the old fort their. Amazing built in a star shape you will get some of the best views of the bay. They have several times when the locals reenact living in the fort and they shoot of cannons and stuff. Very interesting to see! The Lighthouse there is famous and wonderful. Pirates came up on this beach and that is way cool in itself! The lighthouse also has an amazing museum that really tells the history of this city. There is also Flagler College which use to be a hotel built by Henry Flagler. You can take tours of this place wow! Beautiful, many famous people stayed here and the history behind the place is interesting. The city also does several reenactments all the time, the changing of the guard is cool to see shows you what life was like before we were AMERICANS. The Alligator Farm there has been delighting people since 1917. Many generations of families have been here. It is a wonderful place, and very educational and fun! St. George Street is one of the oldest in the US filled with old buildings and great places to eat and shop. There are always people in costume here and it really makes you feel like you are back in time! The first Ripleyâs Believe it or Not is here. I usually do not like these types of things but, it is located in his house and has some of the original show pieces they used. The first Mission in the US is here. Take a self guided walking tour around it. Even if you are not Catholic (which I am not) this place is rich with history and beautiful views of the bay. The Fountain of Youth is here, okay so it does not hold the secret to youth but, you learn about the Spanish coming to America and what they went through here. There are a ton of museums that have wonderful pieces of history from all time periods. Also the oldest bar in the US is here also known as a tavern. Tavern De Gallo. Go hear sailors sing their shanties have a drink the courtyard and experience what this city used to be like.
The drive between St. Augustine and Daytona is amazing you can find beaches with nobody on them here and the views of the ocean cannot be beat. Very nice drive, takes you through some great parts that have a ton of wildlife.
Be sure to go to Kennedy Space center. It will take you two days to do everything here! Even if you are not interested in the shuttle this place is very cool! It is like a small city and very interesting. If you time it right you can see a shuttle or rocket launch and there is nothing like it! NASA really does give you a lot for your buck and you get to see where they launched the Apollo rockets and currently where the shuttle takes off. You also get to tour 9 buildings on a wonderful bus tour and there are 2 IMAX theaters. I could go on and on about Kennedy, it is a wonderful part of America and its history.
The Everglades are like nothing I have ever seen! If you can go there and canoe or Kayak. The wildlife here always amazes me and there is just sooo much to see! There are so many ways you can tour the Everglades, you will see animals that you have never seen before. Nature at itâs best!
Sanibel Island. This little gem is a small island located near Fort Meyers. Beautiful white beaches and very peaceful. The shelling here is some of the best in the world and you will find amazing shells. There is also a lot to do on this island and the people here are really great. There are a ton of great places to eat, shop and stay. This little island has done a lot to keep corporate companies out such as McDonalds. It truly is paradise.
Okay this next âmustâ see is a little touristy and busy but, go to Miami. Go see South Beach and check out all the art deco! The architecture here is wonderful and the colors are awesome! There is always something going on in South Beach and it really lets you have a taste of how people traveled and stayed in the âolderâ days. I used to live here and I could go on and on with what to see but for a must see of FL South Beach and its buildings are a must!
The Keys are also a great place and each Key is different. You can find some of the best beaches and places to stay here. There is also a ton of outdoor activities for all ages and levels. The wildlife here is also amazing again they have animals that you cannot see anywhere else! Sunsets here are gorgeous, and the nightlife cannot be beat. Things do move at a slow or island pace down here. The people who live here are very nice and this place is also full of a lot of history. The keys are also a very romantic place in FL and great for couples.
Okay last place and it is not even a city. Outside of Orlando there is a park called Blue Springs. This place will take your breath away. First of all they have some good hiking and camping. Second there is a great natural spring here in which the Manatees come up and swim. Where else can you go and get this close? The first time I did this was awesome and the memory still has not faded.
I hope this helps you and I hope you deicide to visit!!!!!!! |

There is so much, but my favorite is going to Siesta Key Beach at about 5pm. The gypsies do a drum circle dance just before sunset...very cool to see. You can watch the sunset too because it's on the west coast! Take a digital camera and take a picture every 7-10 minutes...after you download it play it back as a slideshow and you'll see the sun setting!!! |

Ive just got back from there and of course the theme parks are there to be done. Universal Studios is definately in my opinion the best, Sea World is great as is Magic Kingdom, but that is really more for kids. My favourite though was definately Discovery Cove (opposite Sea World). We went there for the day and swam with dolphins which was the most amazing experience ever and the highlight of the holiday. We also swam with stingrays and beautiful exotic fish. You get a whole day there and everything is provided for you, wet suits, snorkelling equipment, suncream (normal cream is dangerous to the dolphins) and your food all day including breakfast, dinner, tea, snacks and drinks including beer. Its not cheap (about ÂŁ130 each) but you also get a 7 day pass for Sea World per person too so its not too bad if you work it out. That in my opinion is a "must see". |

There are beautiful beaches on the ocean side of Florida. Plenty of camping, boating, and fishing.
Be sure to visit John F. Kennedy Space Center and Walt Disney WorldÂź.
If you do visit Disney World, be sure to see Disney's Hydroponic Approach to Gardening. It is a must for all gardeners. |

There is a great German amusement theme park in Florida called " Deutschneyland." The mascot is a mouse wearing lederhosen. |

I live in Central Florida, and I guess my answer will be kind of the same as the others. Beach, theme parks, space center, etc. But there are alot of nature activities as well. We have many beautiful rivers and springs. I just went to one the springs this past weekend and it was great. You can go canoeing, diving, or swimming. |

The "musts" are limited but great...as mentioned by the others.Other than that it is hot, humid, miles of freeways and tract housing developments, malls, mini malls, motels and touristy shops. Topography is disappointing as the highest place in the state is mid state and a mere 15" above sea level. If your friend lives in Naples area you are in luck as it is the nicest area of all. My father in law used to say Florida was all about grey hair and ambulances. He retired there. If you like to golf, boat and fish you are in fat city...but it does not hold a whole lot for a Californian that's for sure. I hope you go before those love bugs get out in late May.. |

Obviously Disneyland is the most obvious place that people would recommend. It's awesome.
Also try:
Wet 'n' Wild water park
Busch Gardens
Sea World
Apart from loads of theme parks there are some good restaraunts to try too.
I would recommend:
Sizzerls for breakfast
Red Lobster
Outback (it's a must)
some of the themed dinner shows like the Dolly Parton one
There are lots of good shopping malls to. You can pick up loads of discount coupons in most touristic areas of Florida. They often recommend places to go to as well.
Hope this helps.
