No.
You need six months left on it.
Renew it now, it's easy and fun. You can get a new picture in there, too!
Also, if you wait too long, you'll have to do an interview to renew it. |

No you need at least six months validity on your passport when you leave. So youll have to renew it, but they will add on the extra moths cos youre renewing it early so youll get 10 yrs plus 8 months |

Nope, same as some of the other answers, you must have at least six months left to run on your passport when travelling to the USA - I'm in the same boat, I'm in the process of renewing mine. |

You'd need a new one as the americans are paranoid and require at least 6months left on passports |

You very definitely have to have 6 months left on it from the date of your return, I just renewed mine because of this condition. It isn't anything to do with Americans being paranoid, Britain imposes the same restriction. You can get a new passport in less than 2 weeks if you apply through the post office, in just one day if you pay the premium for it.
The new interview process someone referred to above applies only to those applying for their very first passport, so you won't need to worry about that. |

Of course you can, it runs out 5 months after you leave.
If you are still out of the country when it expires, the Consulate of origin should be able to obtain an exit visa for you. All countries' have a consulate or a diplomatic envoy In most countries'. |
