When I heard this story on the news, I was very annoyed. This guy had the b*lls to shoot 2 transit cops just because he was restricted from using a student pass. He wasn't a student! He knows he wasn't supposed to. I'm glad he was wounded too. He got what he deserved for being stupid!!

You don't see riots when cops get shot. But when cops shoot back, the whole country goes up in flames. It pisses me off. Cops getting shot is a sad sad thing. They put their lives on the line every single day, just like our soldiers over seas do, to protect this country. Even though it's sad, it's part of the honorable but dangerous job they do. Lets just hope the punks who shot them get arrested and raped in prison.

I think its terrible. I am near the 102 in Woodhaven, and we get our fair share of domestic shootings. luckily they are familiar shootings - meaning thy are not random or robbery.

I think the cops have it pretty hard no matter which way you slice it.

I don't live in New York but death in any place is disturbing. I have avoided places like your city because it's too overwhelming of a place for me. I am not knockin it I just can;t handle situations like the one you are trying to deal with right now. I am sorry for those poor men's families as well.

It happens. Not good, I hope that they and their families come through this. But cops anywhere are targets. Their job is to put themselves in between violence/crime and the public - and they often absorb the brunt of it. It isn't an easy job.

it is overwhelming when u hear about cops getting shot or anybody getting shot in queens. some parts in queens are dangerous.

I think New York is corrupting. I've been living here my whole life and the gradual change has become more dramatic. I've seen a guy snatch a psp from this women's hand while the subway doors were closing. It's ridiculous. Cops are helping and this is their sacrifice. sadly

i'd be sort of scared i guess if i were you but you can take another route that might be safer or somethin but people die all the time and this time it was the po-po and you just got to deal with it i feel sorry for those cops though some body allways messes it up for everyone else

Crime has been up lately though....what with the economy im kinda concerned about budget cuts. First schools, then services, then things like police and sanitation.

Being from long island... i think again why are there so many shootings happening especially in the past couple of years!? this sucks. man that has got to be really scary for you having it have happened so close to somewhere you are every day. omg.
And even today at my school a kid was arrested for threatening to shoot people. idk my grandma thinks the city is going to "hell in a hand basket."

I am from New Hampshire and there is currently a man who is being tried for the murder of a police officer 2 years ago...I happen to pass that corner where he was shot on my way to work sometimes.
