The only reason not to like it is the weather...but you get used to it. People from other places always ask "how can you stand the heat and humidity" and my answer is always "Smart Texans stay inside." :)
Besides, there are weather issues pretty much anywhere during some time of the year... |

I love Texas, I just don't like Jack C.
Texas is great. Friendly, open, bigger than all get out and overall, just a superb place. Can't handle the ridiculous pretense of Dallas and I'm not a fan of the mono-culture of San Antonio, but I like Houston and Austin very much.
Is Texas hot during the summer? Yes, so is NYC, Boston and Chicago, to name a few cities. Humidity is an issue in Houston and SE Texas. But we never have to dig out from a 6 foot snow bank blocking our front doors. Nor do we have to attach heaters to our car engines.
But Texas is diverse culturally and geographically. You have beaches (OK, hardly the best...save for far South Padre Island), you've got the Hill Country....the mountains and mesas of th Big Bend. The water and wind carved Palo Duro Canyon. In some places, it snows every winter and gets warm every summer.
You can't snow ski in Texas, but you can sure fly to locales where you can snow ski. |

I do like it. I've lived in this state, aside from a stint in the Navy, since 1977. This is HOME! |

I've lived in five different states, and Texas is by far the most diverse and friendly. You can surf off the coast in Galveston, attend one of the countries' great music/film festivals in Austin, hunt UFOs near Marfa, see world-class opera in Houston, and stress-out at DFW airport. It's a huge state--Amarillo can be under two feet of snow while folks in Houston are sunbathing, and it's a looooooong drive from one end to the other (I love the signs near Beaumont, TX that say 834 miles to El Paso. |

There are very few reasons not to liek Texas! The ppl are really friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and you could be living in the nice suburbs and just minutes away from great malls and the city! The ppl who dont like it have some serious issues, or when they came they didnt go to the right side of town! |

I've lived in Southeast Houston most of my life and I'm here to tell you it's pretty cool. I travel all over the world and there is nothing better than going back to Texas. I like visiting other places but calling Texas my home is the only way to go.
I wouldn't pass it up, there is everything available there, whatever your poison/pleasure. |

WELCOME TO TEXAS!
What is there not to like about my Texas? We have everything the other 49 states can offer and then some!
Two time zones, beaches, hills & valleys, cowboys, oil, barbecue, line dancing, excellent universities, world-class medical centers, prairies, bi-lingual people, rangers,
low gasoline prices, unpredictable weather, astronauts, Fortune 500 corporations, low tax rate, etc., etc., etc., AND ample space (& lots and lots of it)!
Y'all visit us soon! |

I always loved Texas but I want to explore more places of it. Texas is a great place to be with malls and restaurants. The cozy climate. And there's a place where you can shop every mile near you. |
