I went to Seaworld last August. At the risk of being unpopular, I found the conditions in which some of the animals were slightly disturbing, the Polar bears for example, are kept indoors in a polar scene, granted the low temperature has to be maintained for them, but on speaking to one of the attendants there, I learned that these animals never see daylight, the same applies for Penguins and the sea birds in with them.
Whilst I understand Seaworld operates a worthwhile conservation programme, you have to ask to what lengths they are prepared to go to fund the said programme and which animals truly benefit.
Another feature I had a problem with there is that the shows ram American patriotism down your throat.
Put me down for Universal Studios. |

Well from your post I think you are the same as me and would like sea world best by far. My children got the chance to touch the dolphins and we saw all types of sea life. The shows are brilliant and definitely worth a visit.
I also liked universal but nowhere near as ,much as sea world.
Also of course there is the new water park next day.which looks totally awesome
Hope that helps |

Sea World, You will have a much better time there and not feel like you have been queing all day long to see an attraction. You still have one or two great white knuckle rides if you want them but getting to feed a Dolphin a fish beats anything Universal had on offer. |

Sea World for animal and sea life shows, Universal for rides (rollercoasters) There's a dog, cat, bird, potbelly pig etc. show at sea world that's really good if you love animals, plus Seaworld adopts and uses animals saved from shelters in this show. |

We went to both about 7 years ago. Sea World was really dissappointing but Universal Studios was fantastic.
They're both really different of course : U Studios is basically full of high tech rides (you don't have to be a film fan to appreiate them; they are really very good and there's lots to choose from).
Sea world seemed to us to be a bit "tired"; and these days performing animals are less & less welcomed in terms of them being caged up. |

Personally, I don't care much for Sea World. But it depends on what you are looking for. I like to go to Universal and hop from one ride to the next. If that's not your thing, or if you just want a break and want to do something a little different, Sea World may be for you. They do have a couple of good rides, but mostly it is looking at the different exhibits. And of course there are some good shows - see Shamu!
Universal Studios is quite outdated now, I think. A lot of the rides are based on movies that are old. Their other park, Islands of Adventure, is far superior. It is definitely for thrill-riders, though. Lots of good roller coasters and wild rides. So if you like those types of rides, I would definitely recommend Islands. If not, I would go for Sea World. |

Sea World is better if you're an animal lover. |

I had a 14 day multipark pass.
Wet and Wild was opisit our hotel so I went there most days but other than that, Sea world was the one I visited most often.
Bush gardens is worth a trip too.
For me, Universal studios comes way down in the list. |

I think comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges, really. If you love animals, go to Sea World. However, two days is about the most you are going to want to spend there unless you spend a day in Discovery Cove. Sea World celebrates American Patriotism because it's in America and an American Company. They give Military families free passes and are very supportive of our military men and women - I'm totally fine with that theme!
I'm a Universal Annual passholder and go about once a month or more. You don't necessarily have to be a film fan to enjoy it. There are several thrill rides in Islands of Adventure that are great. Spiderman, in my opinion, is one of the best rides ever. The wait time isn't always long. Newer attractions have longer queues as do some of the most popular rides later in the day. If you go at park opening, you're likely to be able to walk onto several rides.
Of course, Sea World has a couple of thrill rides as well.
Is there a reason that you can't do both? They do sell combo tickets. |

If you like animals SEA WORLD! Also think about Discovery Cove, right opposite Sea World. You may enjoy Busch Gardens and Animal Kingdom too.
Don't book tickets here tho!!!!!
Trust me and read on...
Most of the shopping malls and Hotel receptions run a time share visitation system where you can save HUNDREDS of $$'s on tickets for everything. You can do ones with different companies too! You get a free breakfast if you start at 7:15 ,a tour and chat for no more then 90 mins, get your tickets and go! I saved nearly $1000 in September
These 'tours' are tightly regulated in the US by FEDERAL law, so nothing like the Spanish horrors of years ago. Just say the maintenance charges are too high (which they are) and that will suffice.
Another scam if you are really thrifty is you will have to pay to park at all the attractions now (a rip off I know). If you get a Flex ticket you pay one parking for the day and go to any participating park for free, the same day! The tip here is that Wet n' Wild offers the cheapest parking and is only half a mile from Universal! So, drive into Wet n' wild, pay to park drive straight out again and down to universal, show them the ticket and get in without paying any more!
Beware of anyone charging you for advice on saving money on tickets, the only saving will be them banking the fee you paid them!!! Also, beware of 'special' numbers, don't believe that these are 'copyrighted', it's just a phone number! There are loads of these on e-bay too and the feedback will tell you everything you need to know...
Have a great time! |

Well I went to both with my partner and our Daughter, and my partner hates rides etc so didn't have much to do in Universal athough she still enjoyed it because she's a big movie buff,so if you haven't got a love of film you might not appreciate what it has to offer.Seaworld was loved by all of us though-had a great day there, touched dolphins, saw Shamu etc...excellent day out. |

Seaworld!! Plus they have a brand knew (opened march 1) water park! I think Universal was one of the dirtiest places I have been in Orlando (litter everywhere...) |
|

Seen it all before
 |
Sea World
The queues at Universal are ridiculous (but I went in July)
There is a greater variety of things to see at Sea World - animal shows and some rides
Universal is rides and queues....you could spend the whole day and only get on three or four rides at a busy time....
edit
when we went we bought a flex pass which entitled us to fourteen days at these parks (for the price of two)
so if these are still available you could perhaps do both.....just a thought
i was last there in summer 2004
http://www.floridatix.co.uk/orlando-flexticket.asp?t=g&gclid=CNnzq7GK8ZECFQGoQwodmlyWwA
you could try googling flex pass.....to see if there are any deals |

We just got back from Orlando. We opted not to do Universal this time because last time we went they had a new thing where if you paid $50.00 a ticket extra you got to ride the rides in the fasttrack line. THat is an extra $50.00 ontop of the huge price you already pay. We decided not to do it. and we waited in lines atleast a hour long each line. We only were able to see about 8 attractions that day. I am unsure if that policy has changed, if you stay at one of their hotels you get the same option for free just show hotel key. On the flip side. We went to Seaworld and we paid for one day and when you go in just past the entrace you can get you ticket validated and go back another day free (must show photo id) we had a great time and our small children loved it. We saw all the shows, the Shamu show is mediocre compared to all others we have seen. The dolphin show had a lot of things in it but the dophins were great. The walrus and sealion show was great, get there early to watch the mime, best part the of show. We also loved the downtime in the kids park back by the shamu statium. |
