As always, your mileage may vary :)
1. are the seats comfortable?
Yes.
2. do they have 12v DC cigarette lighter outlets on the bus?
I'd give them a call. I don't think so. Take extra batteries and headphones.
3. do they play music?
No.
4. are the buses relatively clean?
They are reasonably clean. |

Well, you cannot smoke on Greyhound busses! So there won't be lighter outlets. Most Greyhound riders are too poor for laptop computers anyway!
Only music you'll hear is the stuff leaking out of your seatmate's headphones.
The latrines in the back can get pretty ripe.
If you're a kid, the seats will be okay, especially if you can get an entire seat all to yourself. If you're an adult, you will be uncomfortable.
If at all possible try and FLY to Denver. |

No the seats are not comfortable.
No there are no lighter outlets, smoking is banned on the bus.
No, they dont play music.
No, the buses are not clean. They smell bad, the floors are sticky, theres used gum stuck under the seats, beware of the onboard toilet.
(Hint: Eat a bunch of beans before your ride. Everyone will stay away from you.) |

Greyhound bus rides suck I would never recommend then, I do however recommend Amtrak train rides if it is available where you are at! |

1. Seats are comfortable, but it can get tiresome to sit for long periods of time no matter how comfortable the seats are.
2. No, there are no power jacks available.
3. No they do not play music. Bring your own personal music player.
4. The buses are reasonably clean. |

greyhounds are very widespread, so you can get great service one time, but not the next. I've had awesome experiences, my friends however have not.
1. they are bus seats. they are not the greatest even if you pay $5000.
2. most do, for instance the 'Bolt Bus' (a small subsidiary of Greyhound) has everything. Drawback: you have to order passenger 'A' tickets. Those may or may not be more expensive than 'B' or 'C', it may be a case of 1st person to buy gets 'A', whereas the last person to book gets 'C'
3. not on the overhead speakers. ive never had a driver play the radio. get a cheap mp3 player, or a book.
4. again, its all chance. usally, they are tolerable. |

haven't taken one for about a decade - but ten years ago - the seats were pretty comfortable - no memory of outlets - no music - they are kind of clean - like not filthy -but filled with people traveling for maybe days w/out showers - so - but it's pretty chill -can be kind of fun - and you get to see all the different land pass buy and eat in diners when the bus stops, have fun! |

1. are the seats comfortable?
yes and no. it really depends on how big you are and whether or not its an overnight trip. I've gone on 4 overnight bus trips and its not super uncomfortable if you have 2 seats to yourself to sleep on but if you only have 1 seat i found it a bit squished with the other person. but i'm 6'0
2. do they have 12v DC cigarette lighter outlets on the bus?
no. the trip i went on to CO the buses battery died. all of the power is used for the lights above you and the vents. I have to admit though it is a disappointment but just charge your iPod and your phone before you leave.
3. do they play music?
no, but they do play the occasional movie
4. are the buses relatively clean?
yeah for the most part but they don't get every crumb and wrapper in the bus. |
