It's tough to be specific. Quincy Market is in downtown Boston, so there are so many wonderful restaurants in walking distance. Also the North End is right across the street, with many great Italian restaurants.

Pretty much everything in Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall is fantastic. The area is full of stores, restaurants, the food court has every type of food you can imagine, and the street performers add some character to it. Its right on the Freedom Trail. If you insist on eating somewhere else its a short walk from the North End and Downtown Crossing. Have fun.

Oh my god Quincy Market is awesome. Their are literally probably 60 restaraunts and you should really just walk around and see what appeals to you at the moment (this being Boston all the food is pretty good). Also just hang out and walk around the shops, sucking up the atmosphere, people and street performer watching and having fun.

Quincy Market IS food - your only problem will be in choosing what kind you want!

There are great fish and chips at the pub way at the back of the Market...

the Mexican was awful

check out the different chowder places before choosing, if that's your palate...some of them give out free samples as well.

the best rule of thumb there is if it looks CLEAN, people wash their hands/wear gloves - and it smells good - you'll have a great epicurean experience.

bon appetite!

All the above answers are right. It's a great place, but cruise the whole of the food court before you choose -- so many different foods, and several stands have the same thing (e.g., barbecue) so you want to compare. Choose meats from booths where that's all, or mostly, what they sell.

Quincy Market has three buildings -- Quincy Market itself, with food court, and North and South Market bldgs., on either side, with mostly retails shops, but some restaurants.

The most historic sit-down restaurant is Durgin-Park, in the North Market building. Family-style, traditional old New England food. Awesome roast beef (covers the whole plate), real Boston baked beans, Indian pudding. It's been in Boston for years and years (from back when Quincy Market was the wholesale meat market). Now under new management. Have not been there since the new owners, but think it's probably still good.

If you like pizza then you will love Pizzaria Regina. That is Boston's most noted pizza. As it's been said by other people the other places to eat and shop there are fantastic.

I agree with Finance. Also you can go to different stands in the market and buy small portions as you walk around.

Outside of Quincy Market there are lots of bars that serve food which are pretty good. The Bell in Hand is delicious, and so is Clarks. Also right in Quincy Market at the food court there is tons to eat. . . . The Chipyard has yummy little cookies, and I forget the name of it . . .but there's a popcorn place which is so good! They make different flavors and it's super yummy. . . .There's also a Cheers cafe, where the food is a little pricey, but its' good.

Ooh the food court is fantastic, you could eat there every day and have something different. I especially loved the Strawberry Shortcake - would buy one each day and take it back to the hotel to have with a cup of tea. I cant remember the names of all the places to eat. But I do remember eating in Durgin Park and how awful it was

The place is loaded with places to eat and shop! You can't miss it. The Hard Rock Cafe is also around there, as is the Purple Shamrock.

Quincy Market is an over-rated tourist trap hellhole. I would avoid most of the restaurants there, as they are also over-priced tourist traps, and other neighborhoods have much better restaurants.

For a quick bite, my favorite place there is Bombay Club inside Quincy Market. There aren't many places where you can get good quick curry. The naan (bread) is made fresh to order, and is just as good as naan from a sit down restaurant.

For a quick drink, I'd go for margaritas at Zuma's. Sit in the bar area.

For lunch or brunch, I'd go to Kingfish Hall. That's the time of the day/week when it's just plain over-priced, as opposed to ridiculously over-priced.

Otherwise, no. It's a short walk to the North End, and a short train ride to the Back Bay.
