San Diego activities? |
I asked a similar question before but my plans changed a little bit.
My parents aren't budging to drive to Magic Mountain, so I'm going to be in San Diego for a week with only one place to really go outside of the area, and that's to go to Knotts Berry Farms..eh.
I'm trying to find fun stuff to do in San Diego but it's all about animals.. wild animals parks.. sea world.. bleh. I love animals, I don't wanna see them away from their natural habitat. they shouldn't be forcefully entertaining me.
so basically, I need things to do. I already thought of going to the Surf Diva thing in La Jolla and my mom ok'd that. Besides that, I really have no idea what to do and my mom wants to find activities that her and I can enjoy.
What should I check out?
If it helps, I'm going there the second week of August. Additional Details Oh, and I'm a teenage girl with a rather short attention span so I'm not sure if I'd last at a museum or anything like that.. |

I understand about the animal viewing overload and the theme-park burnout.
San Diego is really about beaches. Start in La Jolla. Visit the Cove and enjoy the boutique style of shopping in the blocks surrounding the main beach. But don't stop at the main beach (the Cove). Walk a few blocks south to see the beach with all the seals, then a bit further south to check out the surfing. buy some snorkling gear and enjoy the underwater scenery at La Jolla. And of course rent some kayaks and join a tour of the caves.
But that's just La Jolla. Go south a bit to Belmont Park (a small amusment park) where there is a cool boardwalk and plenty of beach action (MTV did some filming there not too long ago).
And of course you can go to some really beautiful little beaches (and get away from the crowds) if you drive north and explore the beaches and beach cities between La Jolla and carlsbad (stop around Del Mar -- get your parents to take you to a horse race at the really cool race track there (just a block from the beach).
Rent a boat or kayak at Mission Bay. Go deep sea fishing on one of the party boats (it's really pretty cheap).... I could go on and on.... |

Here's a pdf of 50 things you can do in San Diego. It's got 4 categories, although the first might not interest you. Give them a try and just focus on having fun. Also, if you wanna see animals in their natural habitats, you could go bird watching or just find some forests and parks where you can see more animals. Also, you can being a camera and take pictures of everything you see there. The animals and nature, not the people. :) |

Hit the beach even if you can't slip away long enough to dive, snorkel or anything else. At least you can relax on the sand before you head back to the San Diego wildlife tours! It would be a real shame to get that close to Coronado and not enjoy it for an hour or two.
Stuff to do on Coronado Beach.

Old Town is a must, the whole family will love this place, lots to see and do.
Historic Old Town is nestled in heart of San Diego, with over 150 restaurants, shops, and historical sites. Old Town, the Birthplace of California, is just a short walk from the San Diego Trolley Transit Center and a short drive from most San Diego destinations.

You've obviously never been to the wild animal park if you think they are forcefully entertaining you. Go to the beach- mission beach is usually the best.
You don't need things to do, you need ADHD medication. |
