Should I go to Orlando in June or September?

Hey, a few friends and I are planning a trip to Orlando in either June (1st-15th) or September(7th-21st) and wondering which is the best month for weather/theme parks/events?

any help would be much appreciated!

June 1 thru June 15 at the Pop Century Value Resort = $2,093
Sept 7 thru Sept 21 at the Pop Century Value Resort = $1,528

As you can see it is quite a bit cheaper to go in September as far as lodging goes. Disney does not offer a discount on theme park tickets, so that shouldn't have any consideration when making your reservations. Even with their promotion to stay 4 nights and receive 3 free in June, you are still going to end up paying more because the room rates then are about $50 more.

I personally say go in September. Besides the money that you will save kids will be back in school. Parents won't take kids out a month into school starting as opposed to letting them miss their last week or so in June. The weather is about the same during both of the time periods you selected, too.

So, go in September when rates are lower and the crowds are smaller.

I would pick September, we've been twice in September (before having kids!) and had a great time. The weather is really hot, the parks aren't too full and its considered low season at Disney if you decide to stay at one of their on-site hotels.

If you wait until beginning of April 2009 to book you will be able to take advantage of Disney's Free Dining offer which they have offered for the last 3 years in September. Basically if you book a room in a moderate resort or deluxe resort with your tickets you get the free dining plan. This can save a lot of money on meals and Disney does have some great restaurants. But make sure you make those dining reservations as soon as you book the trip as restaurants book up very fast during free dining.

Universal is also relatively quiet in September and usually offers great deals on tickets as well.

Have fun planning your trip!

September would be best. At that time of year, June is really hot outside! In September, it is hot to warm, but not too hot!

Both times of year are not too crowded. In early June, the crowds are not nearly as bad as they are later in the summer. In September, the kids are back in school. September is a bit less crowded. Also, in September, you have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which is a lot of fun. Both are hot, so be ready for the heat!

Honestly, i think that September is your best bet. During this time, "value season as Disney calls it" , Disney lowers the prices on the hotels and tickets, because its hurricane season, and not as many people are at the parks, considering that school is back in session at this time. If you go in June, your asking for some long lines and regular pricing. September has the better weather. Not too hot, not too cold. Usually in the 80s range everyday. Alot of rain though. Theres just the same old fireworks and parades at night at the different parks, so again not big lines.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me! Id be glad to help!

I 'd go in September, while it is still hot, it will be less crowded, the bad side of this is the park closes earlier.

:)
september is the best time. less heat, less crowds, and fall decor everywhere. but it's still warm enough to swim and tan.

September. After Labor Day the parks are much less crowded than they are in the summer. Plus in the summer the parks are already busy that they don't throw a lot of special events. Weather will be about the same in both months.

Better hotel rates in September.
KIds will be in school.

June will be very busy and very hot. September will still be hot and the "free dining" promotion will probally be going on which means heavy crowds. I would recommend going during the last week of September.

I would definitely choose to go in September. I've lived here for many years (since 1971) and without a doubt the weather will be better for you in September. Not only that but the kids are just back in school so the theme parks and water parks will be much less crowded. You can also find some better deals on tickets and hotels in September versus June. June is a very busy month because of it being summer and the kids being out of school. But even aside from that it is a very hot and humid time of the year. September is not going to be cool as a cucumber by any stretch, but it will be a little bit less miserable as far as the heat goes. That's the month I always think of as getting a little relief from the summer months.

Enjoy your visit.

September. Less crowded and the past couple years if you stayed in on of the disney hotels they were offering FREE dining plan. That saves you TONS of money.
We went 3 week of September and I said I will never go any other time. I have NEVER seen Space Mountains line under a 5 minute wait.
We always went in the summer months.

OSAYAMEN O
september no hurricanes normally come around that time

well first compare the averages for those months in orlando
June
Average High Temperature: 90ºF
Days about 90ºF: 17
Average Low Temperature: 71ºF
Days with Lows below Freezing: 0
Average Rainfall Amount: 7.0"
Days With Rain: 14
Days with Thunderstorms: 14
Days with Fog: 11

September
Average High Temperature: 89º
Days about 90ºF: 15
Average Low Temperature: 72º
Days with Lows below Freezing: 0
Average Rainfall Amount: 5.8"
Days With Rain: 14
Days with Thunderstorms: 10
Days with Fog: 10

the weather is practically the same.

but it will be way way less crowded at the theme parks in september cuz kids just head back to school so many families aren't going to take their kids out of school with in the first month.
where as in june many of the kids are already out of school or getting out very very soon.

plus if you were thinking about going to disney and staying on property for the past few years (and most likely continuing) they give away free disney dining plans for those who book a trip between about august 20th and september 20thish. so that can be a real money saver.

but you also have to consider the new promo disney has where you buy 4 days of tickets and 4 nights at a hotel and get an extra 3 days at the parks and 3 nights at the hotel for free.
and it is going on during the dates you would want to go in june so that would be a huge money saver!
check out the details to the promo
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/special/offerDetail?id=FY09Q2ValueOfferPage&CMP=KNC-WDWGAPQ2GOLDGOO&HBX_PK=disney+world&HBX_OU=50&s_kwcid=disney%20world|3020525448

and i'm not sure where else you plan on going but universal is pretty fun.
here is their website to check out their ticket options and prices
http://www.universalorlando.com/tickets.html

and here is seaworlds ticket options and prices
http://seaworld.com/Tickets/Visitors.aspx

so depending on where you want to spend your time and how much crowds you can handle is what will determine when to go.
if you want to stay at disney and spend alot of your time there then going in june
but if you really want to avoid the crowds its best to go in september.

have a great time which ever dates you choose!

Neither. Go in December or January. The weather is bad during the summer (May-October). Thunderstorms with ground-striking lightning everyday for hours will keep you inside. It's hot, humid, and the bugs are terrible.
