You can always go to Times Square and see the ball drop. You can't relive a party. Go to the party.

small shindig... times square will be PACKED and you could get mugged or something and you won't get out till like 5 in the morning.. its funny with friends anyways so then you can drink and eat and do whatever you want

No you shouldnt because its going to be really cold, you wont be able to see much unless you get there like 2 days in advance lol... and its going to be really packed. On tv you have a perfect view (and with tivo u can pause it if you have to pee haha)... and plus you have the bathroom 2 steps away. :P

If you can't stand for 7-8 hours, you better not go to the Times Square thing.

Also, there is a no re-entry rule once you get into the Times Square party grounds. Once you get in there (from 2pm onward), and you leave, you cannot return to the party.

And there will be the din of party horns by the thousands at Times Square. After the ball drops, there will be confetti flying into the crowd for 5-6 minutes. If you don't mind the confetti.....you can stay in Times Square.

But if you want to be a little more private, go to that shindig.

chill with friends. u'll get bored waiting around for the ball to drop and then after it does nothing happens. plus it's way too crowded. ppl are already getting places at times square-imagine-a whole day prior. it'll be more fun and satisfying inside.

There are HUNDREDS of thousands of people. It's ridiculous and you can't move.

I would say do it once to say you did it. But my friends in New York go to local bars.

Definitely go to Times Square! It can be a once in a lifetime chance! Many people kill for that opportunity..I know I would. Take the opportunity you have now. You can go to a friends house any other time.
