Should I move to America?

I'm 13 years old and I was born and live in London. When I finish my studies in secondary school, college and university, I was thinking of moving to California, Florida or New York, because I want to be closer to foreign relatives, and also because I have a tough and stressful life with my family (apart from my gran) here in London.

I know some people over there don't like immigrants, but I want to go there for a fresh start in life, and also because the English weather sucks.

So............should I move to America?

ALSO WILL IT BE HARD FOR ME TO GET A JOB IN AMERICA?

We don't mind immigrants--America was built by immigrants and there are very few truly native Americans-- we mind people who move here and don't learn to assimilate or contribute. The economy will be different when you're ready to come, so there's no way to predict what your job prospects will be. A good education will help a great deal; concentrate on that for right now. As for climate, go for California. New York will seem really cold for you, and Florida is much too hot and humid. When you're ready, welcome!

I suggest you visit for an extended stay with family.. You'll find it's not all easy street. Things are tough and stressful here as well.

After you finish your studies and you still want to come.. you have to apply for a job here.. and get sponsored by your employer who will help you get a work permit. Once here.. you can apply for a green card.
The process takes many years and lots of $$$ before you can become a resident alien. Then take your citizenship test..

=)
i would move to sicilly lotsa hot guys

You can't just "move to America". You need to have a visa and work permit and a job already lined up. My understanding is that there is a "quota" for immigrants from England and that the wait is very long. You might want to check with the US Embassy in England or the State Department's official website for more info.

it is not uncommon to want to live in america! california is beautiful! palm trees, cute shoppes, long walk and bike paths right on the beach! absolutely amazing! florida is so tropical and warm! miami is a great area! very nice! new york is the best! the city is beautiful, and everything is great! it is not very hard to get a job here in america, just you have to be well educated to get a better job that pays more, there are so many options too!

if you do decide to move to america, go to New York City. i grew up in NYC, and many may say bad things about it, but i'm glad i was raised there. it taught me alot of things. you learn to be "smart"--how to get up and go....but anyways, there are millions of ppl in NYC that come from different countries and have different backgrounds and stuff. and you would find a job easily in nyc. thats the place to go.

you should. there are so many opportunities here, and by the time you get a job, the economy should be better so it'll there will be a better chance for you to get a job. and it's not true, we don't hate immigrants. we just hate the illegal ones

Jewel
Yes move to America, the only immigrants we don't like are illegal ones we have to support. Right now it is hard for anyone to get a job but hopefully by the time you are old enough to come over the economy and job situation will be better. Believe me we like Brits, come on over!

yes move to America and never think that American don't like foreigners this country is made of foreigners and you will find a job in here to

xCoreyx
yeah im 14 and i live in california.
No, we don't hate immigrants well not people from London atleast. It won't be hard as long as you can learn to lose your accent

Jenna
yes move to america. its amazing

pure_love
Well in California, the unemployment rate is I think at 9 or 10% percent so even people with college degrees are losing their jobs or having to work at minimum wage jobs so it is very hard to get a job there.
The weather rocks that's for sure, you just have to see if its worth the risk because it's really in a big hole right now.
