Well if you consider gas prices these days It would probably be a better investment to fly. A suggestion I have is to sell your car (assuming it doesn't hold sentimental value) and purchase a new one once you reach Dallas. |

i dont know because driving is alot of gas... and its a long drive... and you have to pay for hotels unless you want to sleep in the car... so it depends on how much driving will really add up to |

It'll be most convenient for you to fly if you don't like long, boring drives. But if your money is tight right now, and you're on a budget, you should drive. The best thing to do is make a list of pros and cons of flying. what are the bad things about taking a flight, and the good things. if the number of good things out number the bad, then you should book your flight ASAP! |

the drive is long, but if you break it up and maybe stay over in some city halfway it wont be that bad.. with that said.. I would rent a truck and tow my car behind it.. or if you're moving with another person have them drive your car while u drive the truck |

the answer all depends on your money situation. if you have the money and it won't put you in debt then i would definatley fly. my wife and i just moved to the dallas area 1 month ago. we drove and it was a hassel. |

I moved from Chicago to Dallas (about 22 hours) and towed a rented trailer with my vehicle. It's not a bad drive. And since you're looking at $1,000 difference, to me it's a no-brainer decision to drive. |

i'm missing something here.... why would you rent a truck to tow your own car? Why not drive your own car- you are driving anyway...
23 hours is doable in 2 long days or 3 short ones and is a good way to see the country. Problem is that depending on where you are starting out from, you may run into the worst of the winters weather right now. If you fly, you are without vehicle on one side of the move or the other for a day or two...
I've driven and moved over 44 hours away and 30 hours away, with kids. It's not always fun, but then again we have some great memories too- like moving with 2 kids, a dog, rabbit and fish. |

Fly.. Its faster and more safe than cars.. there are less airplane accidents then there are in cars.. and plus.. You get ther faster and have all this time for a vacation without wasting a whole 23 hours and getting tired from driving |

Drive, but get ready for Dallas traffic. It is not for the faint of heart. |

You need to figure out how much gas will cost, getting a room, and eating expense will run you then compare the two. Go with the most economical for you. If someone is helping you you might not need a room because you can alternate driving, also if you pack food then the only stops will be gas, bathroom and to stretch you legs. Good Luck |

Fly.. you dont want the hassle to move and be TOO TIRED by the time you reach there..
until you can barely do the thing
it is much more expensive but more convienient |

It really depends on if you like to drive long distances and if you've driven a weighed down truck. It can be pretty painful and you might find yourself regretting it. On the other hand if you love to drive, go for it! It's probably pretty flat (the scenery), but there are worse ways to spend your time. |

if you fly, then you would need a lot of money, and plus, it wouldn't be that fun because you won't be able to see some interesting places. but if you drive, which i would recommend, it would be cheaper and more fun because you'll get to see a lot of places you have never been to before. yea, the drive is long, but it is fun. |

Before you make your decision, take a pad of paper and figure the following: rental of truck (make sure you include their attached fees such as insurance, etc) cost of food and gas. Then take the cost of shipping your car and add the cost of the airplane. ($1,700)) If the cost to drive is cheaper, than drive. Don't work with arounds. Get the exact amounts. |

DEFINETLY FLY!!! I mean, now it may seem cheaper, but once you get the cost of gas, and hotel for overnight (unless you're seriously planning to drive 23 hours straight), and i live in Dallas, and i'll tell you now, traffic isn't a walk in the park. And do you really want to go through all the hassle when you can just fly here??? If you do fly, make sure to take AA, they have amazing service and, trust me, you do not want to see Lovefield. |

DRIVE your car. pack whatever fits and you need and rest every 4 hours drive no more than 10 hrs. it's not bad I've driven that long before and you get to see so many things.
Do you like road trips?
Why spend extra money. |

Just moved from CA to IN a few months ago and we drove. I definitely enjoyed the drive and seeing the scenery. However, we had movers move our stuff, the only thing we moved was our car and ourselves. Everything went smoothly and I felt it was a great move! |

If you look at it from an adventure stand point. You have the great opportunity to travel to your new destination and see the sights on the way in. Take an extra day or two to stop at some of the points of interest. In the long run you will appreciate the value of seeing America. |

If you don't mind driving then go for it. But remember that the cost to drive will also rack up with gas prices and hotel costs. However, before you journey off in your car - check weather in the areas you will be traveling through. If it looks like you may hit some bad situations then consider taking the flight. There is many issues to weigh out before you decide to drive. |

Well I do not know where you are going to be able to rent a truck (one-way) for only 200$.
We moved two years ago (a 19 hour drive) and our truck, plus the tow dolly was around 750$ after taxes and stuff (unlimited mileage). We got a few good discounts from booking online and being AAA members through Penske and we shopped around A LOT!
Of course, then there is GAS which was at least 200 if memory serves and prices were a bit lower then.
At any rate, it was still cheaper to do it that way than it would have been to have our stuff shipped and drive...
NOTE ... if you DO rent a truck and tow your car get a 4 wheel dolly NOT a 2 wheel tow dolly. That way your car is all the way up on the trailer, it is better for your car easier to control and was only like 50 bucks more or something.
Either way, good luck with your move! |

Drive! There is so much to see! I have moved across the country (NC to AZ) twice and it was a blast. I'll never forget the memories! |
