Should a woman require her husband's permission before she cuts her hair, given that a Michigan law says that

a woman's hair legally belongs to her husband?

she has a right to cut it but if she cuts it short like a boy then the guy should get to sleep with a woman who looks like woman until her hair grows back

BC
No, and the law is not enforcible either. Just one of the many out-dated laws that states have not deleted from their books. Every state has them.

luv_my_rats
That is most likely one of those antiquated and unenforced laws still gracing the lawbooks. I don't think any judge in his/her right mind would rule on that these days.

South Carolina, my state, still has a law that says it is ok to beat your wife, but only on Sundays on the front steps of the courthouse. NO ONE WOULD EVER ENFORCE OR ALLOW THAT!

Eric
of course!!

stop animal cruelty.spread peace
that not true a women does not belong to her husband thats against the law in the usa every one has freedom so duuuuuuh no you dont need to ask permission. you should read the bill of rights and the constitotion. the laws require to all 50 nifty united states form 13 original colonies.

Bonnie Ayr
Don,t make me laugh.

e_stehlar
That is complete bullcrap. A woman's or a man's body hair is their property only. That's akin to saying a person can be a slave and I'm pretty sure we all left that behind a long time ago. To make this long answer simple; No. A woman shouldn't need her husband's permission.

yes of course

joyce
That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. You can cut your hair without anyone's permission.

There is also a law in Michigan that requires the city hall to pay 10cents for each rats head brought to their office.
An enterprising kid could make some money if he hangs around the fast food places and sets some traps..........

thats stupid

Pallavolo Girl
Uh no, techniqually its HER hair since its on HER body and it was HER that was born with it. That law is very stupid, and i don't care what my guy says I will get my hair cut when I dang well please!!

tj is cool
That is a weird law if it is true. I wonder how is it going to be enforced.

Mike!69
Yes cause what about if we wanna pull it in the bedroom the what????!?!?!?HUH?!?!

Yeah, there are all sorts of stupid laws on the books.

In Texas you can go to jail for carrying wirecutters in your pockets.

In Arizona, it is illegal to hunt camels.

In the news recently was some goofy British laws such as it is legal to kill a scottsman as long as the scottsman is within the city walls and it armed with a bow.

LOL no! How silly, however I do tell my husband when I intend to change my hair just for an idea if he will like it or not. It grows back, but I like to keep it in a style we both like.

meg
blow the law!i wouldnt listen to anyone if they told me what to do with my hair, hair belongs to to her not the husband

I Speak the Truth
When you make a decision to move anywhere you should get familiar with the laws, if you don't agree with them you should consider moving to somewhere else, they don't make sense to you and maybe to nobody but the law is there and you have a choice.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong but just giving you the most honest answer.

wow no individualism all the way I guess your man does have to look at u all day so that can make you not get any for a while but in the end it will always grow out

What?? Bunch of crap?? this woman's hair should belong to her own, not to her husband?? What's next, she can't go out to eat or shop on her own? Where did u hear this?

Gravy B
Since her husband married her based on looks (mostly), I'd say it's considerate to ask.

<lauren>

I always try to give my husband fair warning at least before I do anything drastic. I know he likes it long and it is my best feature, so I don't want to change my appearance in a way that might make me less attractive to him.

He is quite careful about trying to look & dress to please me as well, lest you think I'm being oppressed in any way. He is in the military, so he doesn't have a whole lot of leeway on hairstyle, but he does respect my wishes/opinion on other details.

That said, I don't know why there should be a law to that effect--it is a common sense piddly detail that is best worked out within a healthy marital relationship.

in my village she must. many bad whippings for such foolishness.
