If u go with no money and all these debts on your mind, you wont enjoy yourself! You're better off waiting until u have a job and a regular income, pay off those bills, and then plan a trip to Vegas which you'll actually enjoy! You'll be able to relax and have a good time, not worrying about money issues. Whatever you do - don't borrow money from your friend to go to Vegas, its a bad idea. |

This sounds like a really bad idea that you will come to regret, and could lead to you being featured on an episode of "Cops."
Seriously. It's called logical thinking.
We're trying to have a civilization here. |

Well you should tell him all that first and your in finanical strain, and if someone really wants you to go? Go tell them directly and you would rather have the money for this and you you can't afford it right now. Don't go to vegas broke depending on others or if something happened you didn't have any money or couldn't pich in. Your already low on cash. Don't take chances till the time is right where you know you'll be OK. |

don't go...the $50 from your mom will barely even help cover the bus ticket, which means you are still $200 short, not to mention you know you will spend more than just the money on the bus ticket. It's Vegas for crying out loud!!! |

Well it sounds like you already know that you shouldn't, so don't do something you'll end up regretting. |

Common sense. If you don't have the green, you can't make the scene. If you don't have the money, you can't go. Plain and simple. Delay your trip and wait until you have some money saved up and are in between billing cycles too. Timing is everything and you don't want to go broke. That's too easy to do in Vegas. |

Having been through a lot of different experiences in all things Vegas myself, you will be doing yourself a lot more harm than good. In Vegas, it's way too easy to lose everything and become a destitute. In your situation, it'll be even easier. Don't listen to those that tell you, "what the hell, throw caution to the wind and live it up! After all it's Vegas baby"! That's an oxymoron. Don't go until you have enough money to stay and enjoy yourself comfortably without any worries. If that means you'll have to wait longer, so be it. Vegas will still be there tempting you. Know when to say when. |

You are living beyond your means. What are your plans to pay your bills? This is an important life lesson. Change your phone service, change your cable/Internet service. Get some income. |

Stay home and cancel your cable and phone. I pay $31 a month for phone and DSL. Tell the phone company you want "measured service" 30 calls for free and incoming calls free. DSL isn't as fast as cable but it's fast enough. You don't need 2 lines!! now go out and get a part time job. and you'll be ahead of your friend, and your mom will be proud. |

i'm a college student too...it's tempting to go but if you're uncomfortable about it, that would tell you you probably shouldn't go and you know you *should* save the money :).. go to vegas later |

There's no point in going to Vegas if you're broke. You need money or it's no fun. |

As you already know, it would not be a good idea. Las Vegas has broken more people than you would think. No matter how smart you are you will not come out ahead. Good luck!! (but not at the tables or machines). |

Well, if you go to Vegas with no money, you won't be able to gamble, drink at a bar, go to a club, or ride the bus. But if you are just going to get out of town for a weekend, it might be a good idea. There are many free activities in Vegas and I think it's just fun to walk up and down the strip and look through the hotels. They are so cleverly made. Since you aren't going to pay your bills whether you go or not, you may as well go as long as you aren't going to be tempted to spend money. You said your friend is willing to pay for your food, and you both have a place to stay, so that is covered.
You should also think of it from your friend's point of view. If he is offering this trip to you knowing you don't have any money, maybe he really wants you to come along with him. I know I've been in situations where I just didn't want to go somewhere alone, and Vegas is a place where it is neat to have some friends with you to share it with.
Hope this helps. Good Luck! I would never pass up a chance to go to Las Vegas. |
