Detroit is a great place to live. It always has something going on whether it is a concert or festival. All festivals have free admission. There are some really nice neighborhoods in Detroit on the eastside which is Indian Village or the around Indian Village along the river

Detroit because the Pistons r
better then the Miami heat

Oh Definately Detroit. As far as Detroit is concerned it has extremely beautiful weather, clean air, lots of job availability, freindly neighborhoods, nice casinos, cheap houses, Chicago and Cleveland nearby. Great Universisties and schools.
In Miami you will sweat your life out, too crowded, a hurricane will kill you, dirty place.

Depends on your needs, LOL

If you thrive in the cold, dont like hurricanes and prefer four seasons then Detroit is the spot for you. There are some areas of growth as the state turns its focus from the automotive industry to technology and other things. See www.metromode.com for what's going on in SE Michigan. One of the biggest pieces of news that hasnt gotten a lot of publicity is that the FBI is building a new office in the Corktown area which will be very swanky if the prototype is an accurate depiction of things to come.

If you hate winter, love hurricanes and are not particular about having a white christmas then Miami is the place to be.

Now if you are just being silly and messing with my city i say do "wat" u want, LOL

i hope this helps!

Move to Detroit - Move to the City, NOT the suburbs.

Where else can you get free festivals and concerts - like the one in New Center this weekend.

http://www.fusicology.com/index/events/detail.cfm?rid=32&id=8277

There is so much opportunity there. You can do what ever you like. If you need a job, I'd secure it before moving though. They can be tough to find. A better idea is to start up a small business of your own!

Seriously, I wish I was there.

Mid-town and New Center are fun to live in. Indian Village is nice too. There are lots of cute neighborhoods if you look.

If you move to Detroit, make sure you move to the suburbs of Detroit like Ann Arbor, Taylor, Inkster-I live in Inkster, the houses are real cheap in Inkster, move to north side of Inkster, the south side of Inkster is the hood or the ghetto.

If you want your house to be destroyed by a twister caused by Cat 5 hurricanes, then Miami is the place to be. If you like the simple life, with a varieties of weather conditions, Soul, Geographical structure, Fresh Clean Water, and International World Class City, then detroit is the place.

Miami, its warm year round. Also the city is very vibrant, and multicultural, there's always something happening in Miami.

This is an absolute no brainer. Miami is way better than Detroit.

miami is groovy but it's like the hottest place on earth. it's hotter than my oven in the summer. but the beaches are sooooooooo clean and nice. I think it's miami for me.

RENThead
Well, I'm originally from Florida but I live near Detroit, lol. Definitely Miami! It's warm there, for one thing! And Miami is alive and full of things to do. Detroit doesn't have any job market whatsoever, either. Some of the suburbs around it are cute, but it is unbelievably boring.

sarah a
move out of this boring city and go to miami.plus if you have kids, the schools are better.plus if you need a job miami has thousands of good jobs

trixie_pix
miami! i live in MI, not that fun

♥ m a s s i e ♥
Well Michigan is really nice..Detroit on the other hand isn't that great. I mean in the center area is beautiful by comerica park and Joe Louis. Especially in the summer. You will get tired of it being so warm all the time in Miami. I live in Livonia and it is a really nice area. I love having the four seasons. Hot sunny summers, snowy white winters, colorful middle temp springs, and color changing leaves in the fall. Come to Michigan!!!!!!

oh Diana ur being bias..
lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... is NOT a tourist city. Most tourist who visit Detroit CANNOT wait to leave since Detroit is dull, boring, and does not offer much in the forms of entertainment and most reviews I have read about travelers visiting Detroit do not have a good experience visiting Detroit.

haahaah that sounds like victorville
hey pink how did cali get put in this talk?
u jealous of my state?

lmaooo duhh miami is a better place to live if you like beaches and warm weather all year around but all those tourists and traffic would get to you after a while...hey to all the detroit haters you need to blame it on our government who isnt pumping any money into detroit...dont blame the hard working people who live there...they are good people just trying to get by. We all cant live in beverly hills. I feel bad when i see the homeless holding signs saying "work for food" but i would rather grow up in a place like this because it makes you a better person than some rich girl who grew up in the hollywood hills not knowing what real life is about...but cali has it's poor spots and hoods too...the government cares more about cali and a few other states and the rest of us have to suffer for it. It's really not fair. I mean really the poorest cities are the ones who should get free college education...but nope. They dont care. So people cant afford to go to school so they stay poor and their kids stay poor and the cycle continues generation after generation. They need a way out too.

Stay where you are - don't move

Mad Dog Martok
Well, I'm from Detroit originally and I'm currently living in the Little Rock area. Got tired of the muck and crime and moved southward.
Miami is at least warmer but there is still muck and crime, which you will find in any large city plus there is the risk from hurricanes every year.
I suppose if I had it to do over again, I'd move to either colorado or montana.

Mr. Knowledgeable VI
Between Miami and Detroit, move to Miami and here is why;

1. Miami has a strong economy while Detroit has a weak economy.

2. Miami's population is growing and has grown by over 41,000 residents in the last six years while Detroit's population is shrinking and has shrinked by more than 80,000.

3. The weather in Miami is Beautiful with sunshine all year round while Detroit has snow and ice in the wintertime.

4. Miami has a vibrant downtown scene with a fantastic music scene, museums, shopping, sports, beaches, and is a tourist site for people all over the world. Detroit is not vibrant at all. Few museums, an unpopular music scene, no malls, no beaches although their sports are more popular than Miami's is.

5. Miami has better mass transportation with buses and trains that are on the ground. Detroit only has a bus system that is not reliable and useless.

6. Miami is a World Class City. It is a city that is based off of culture and you meet people from all over the world in Miami, especially from South America and the Caribbean. Detroit is neither a World Class City or an All American City (although it use to be) and you do not meet people from all over the world in Detroit.

7. Miami is a Tourist City. People from all over the world visit Miami everday and enjoy thier visit. They like the beaches, entertainment, and shopping and Miami has hosted major sporting events including Super Bowl XLI. Detroit is NOT a tourist city. Most tourist who visit Detroit CANNOT wait to leave since Detroit is dull, boring, and does not offer much in the forms of entertainment and most reviews I have read about travelers visiting Detroit do not have a good experience visiting Detroit.

8. Residents in Miami know that if they want goverment assistance, they have to do their part to get assistance while Detroit residents expect city goverment to assist them no matter what and when goverment does not respond, citizens complain.

9. Miami's residents care about the city they live in while Detroit residents do not care about the city that they reside in.

I have some information about the demographics about both Miami and Detroit from City-Data.com that could be an assistance for you. Good luck wherever you decide to relocate to.

The only disadvantage about living in Miami is that Miami and the State of Florida has hurricanes and Detroit and the State of Michigan does not have hurricanes. Both cities do have crime but Detroit has more crime than Miami.

Miami, no snow, no cold, less murder

i say move to Miami because Detroit is full of a bunch of blacks who don't want you to have nothing.and will kill u over a pair of shoes or doller.

dhardma1
I'm from Detroit originally but would love to live in Miami. It's nice to wake up to sunshine and warm weather all the time. You always wake up in a good mood. Unlike Detroit where there's always gloom.
