Busy indeed. Here are some ideas on beating the crowds!

1) Consider splitting your day! Disney is open extended hours for the summer so consider going to the parks early (the time when a park is LEAST crowded) and enjoying more rides in better weather. Taking a break from the parks for lunch then returning in the evening. This way you'll entirely skip the busiest and hottest part of the day (lunch). Most guests (due to breakfast, getting lost, parking etc...) don't arrive to the park gates till nearly noon then try to spend most of their day at that park till they are fed up or exhausted (around 830-9). We arrive early, get better parking spots, less people means easier to get into the parks and shorter ride times! As the park fills up after a few hours we head for the exit and go to the rental for a laid back lunch, a dip in the pool or even a nap. By about 5 or 6pm we are very well rested and ready to take on the parks again. We head back and by now some morning people have left (again good parking) the heat of the day has subsided and we are refreshed as so many others are wearied and heading home.
The park generally stays open till midnite!

2) Know your Fast Pass! As soon as you enter a park have TWO destinations. These should be your absolute MUST ride attractions. Make a beeline for either one and follow the signs to its Fast Pass machine. Slip your park ticket into the machine and retrieve BOTH a new ticket telling you when to come back and YOUR PARK TICKET back again. This new ticket will tell you that at 10:15 for instance you can return to this ride and skip the line altogether (there will be a side Fast Pass line which is NEVER more then 3-7 minutes long) Now you are free to head to your other Must ride attraction and wait in its regular line. You are allowed one fast pass per couple hours and it's a Great time management tool.

3) Have a plan! Know which attractions interest you and which might not. Then plan a general "attack" if you will. This will help you navigate these colossal parks in a more roundabout fashion as opposed to a mind numbing (time consuming) back and forth "what do you want to do know" type effort. These efforts tend to contribute more stress then needed while a planned approach let's you (and your little ones) know that you WILL see the Little Mermaid... just after these two rides first. Rarely an argument there!

Be sure to bring snack foods. There are Walgreens and CVS stores all over the central Florida area which are a great stocking up place for individual sized chips, fruit, peanuts and the like. Don't buy water or juices because they are HEAVY and you will not enjoy carrying these items for more then an hour. Bottled water is the only thing we consistently buy "inpark" but it's ice cold, gone in sixty seconds and two steps from a recycling can! Most all vendors sell water so just look for someone who's not too busy. We also buy the double cheeseburger with fries meal then order a second bun. When you need food in the park, this double cheeseburger is everywhere and with the extra bun running 70 cents or so we can both enjoy a meal that won't bog us or our wallets down. Lastly, if there's anything that you couldn't ride during your trip KNOW THIS... The last half an hour a park is open tends to be it's least busiest. Some parks will stay open later for Disney hotel guests. Otherwise, in the last half hour everyone heads to the exits which is the WORST place to be. People are tired, irritable carrying two bags AND a baby, hungry, mentally and emotionally raw! This is not the place to be. Ignore the crowds and head for the back of the park. The lines will be in the less then 10 minutes range which means you can tackle 3 of your favorites back to back to back!!! By the time the park and rides finally do shut down you can stroll down much less crowded streets to shorter lines for your parking trolley and hey, "that's our car!" which is much easier to find now and so is the exit sans the 500 other cars that just left while you were on The Haunted Mansion...AGAIN!

Have a great trip and remember to show some kindness whenever possible! It's part of the magic and you'll never know when you'll need some yourself. Aloha, K

Cathy
Um, yeah. And kboyaloha has some great advice above, definitely listen to him!

Why would you care if anyone "thinks" it will be crowded? Either it will or it won't, and what anyone "thinks" is really of no consequence, is it?

Also, do you mean Disneyland, or Disney world? They're a few thousand miles apart, you know.

Of course it will be crowded - it's the middle of summer! Now, do you feel better?

hell yea disney world has like a billion people not likely to get less people around no mater what

itchianna
Disney World is crowded every day by my standards. But summer, long weekends and holidays crowds increase. You have a great possibility it is crowded. Have fun anyway.

It is so hot down here maybe you will get lucky and not have too many long lines. If you aren't from Florida-be prepared for some nasty, nasty heat.

proud nerd
In July? Most definitely.

Orlando always gets tourists during the summer even though the sun is scorching. International Drive is the hot spot for tourists and all the theme parks. I can't think of one time that I went to Disney World and it was not ridiculously crowded. Make sure you get there early so you can ride the majority of the rides without waiting for an hour... sometimes more.

Georgia B
if you are talking about DISNEYLAND then yes it will be however there is the other park right across the Disneyland entrance if you have a park hopper ticket you can go back and forth

Whenever school is out in the US it is crowded. Meaning all summer, christmas week, spring break (both easter week as well as patriots day week), presidents week, and I believe thanksgiving week as well. And for most of those times the rooms are the most expensive. So you pay more money for less fun.

Windy
it will be very crowded.

Is disney ever not crowded?

I have been six times in 14 years-Epcot was the least crowded of all the parks.

well disney is crowded year-round
i went on dec. 24-25 and you'd think it was really crowded but it wasnt that crowded

but you just do your own thing and you probably wont notice theres that many people there.

the lines are ganna be long at whatever time you go in the year so it doesn't really change

fastpasses can help alot!!

if that helps...
