So i'm gooing to hawaii for 1 week. can some1 give me a checklist of what to bring?

The Core Basics

* Casual wear like shorts and T-shirts are fine for day time wear.
* For dinners, you really donâ€™t need to get dressed up for the vast majority of restaurants. Most places will say â€œresort wear is fineâ€. So what does resort wear mean? Men can wear dress-shorts or khaki trousers and a collared shirt. Ladies can wear casual skirts, sun dresses, capri pants, dressier shorts, etc. For nicer restaurants, I like to make my dinner reservations about a week or so before I leave the mainland. So when I call to make the reservations, I ask what the dress code is. That way there is never a doubt.
* Bring two swim suits per person so that you will always have a dry suit to wear.
* Bring a swim suit cover-up as most resorts request that you modestly cover up while in lobbies and common areas other than the pool and beach.
* For the pool and beach, you will need flip flops and reef shoes.
* Sunglasses
* Bring sunscreen, with an SPF that is higher than what you would normally wear on the mainland. Remember that if the container is larger than 3 oz you will have to check your luggage. Whether you check the sunscreen in your luggage or carry it onboard the aircraft with you, always put it in a zip-lock container in case it leaks in transit.
* Lip balm with SPF 15 or higher
* Hat
* Bring your guide book. My personal favorites are the â€œRevealed Guidesâ€œ
* Bring a map of the island(s) that you will be visiting. The free maps you get from the rental car company are somewhat hard to navigate by because the island is sectioned off into multiple pages.
* Bring print outs of directions, confirmations, and online advice.
* Camera with lots of memory or film
* Binoculars for views, bird watching, stargazing, and whale watching (January - April)
* Beach bag that packs flat and/or lightweight back pack like this one from REI.
* A small first aid kit with bandages and antibiotic ointment.
* Bring a waterproof jacket in case it rains.

Special Considerations:

If you plan to hike:

* Mosquito repellant - the pre-moistened towelettes are convenient for packing and carrying with you.
* Benadryl stick in case the mosquito repellant didnâ€™t work
* Hiking shoes or sneakers that you wouldnâ€™t mind throwing away if they get muddy.
* Collapsible hiking poles can be useful, but not essential. I always stuff mine in my luggage when I can.
* Lightweight back pack with water bladder or a fanny pack that conveniently holds water bottles.
* Quick dry clothing
* Zip-off pants can be useful if hiking in cooler areas.
* Bring some energy bars to have on hand.

If you plan to go to higher elevations like Haleakala or Mauna Kea:

* Thermal underwear
* Windproof gloves
* Windproof jacket
* Long pants and shirts for layering
* If you plan on staying in the Upcountry like Lanai City on Lanai or Kula on Maui for examples, youâ€™ll want to bring long pants and a sweater for evenings. Even the Volcano area on the Big Island can get chilly at night.

Half as many clothes as you think you will need and twice as much money as you think you will need!

Money, shorts, sandals, swimwear (you can rent snorkle/dive gearanywhere), money, sunglasses, a big hat, more money, shoes that you won't mind being ruined in the salt water, and oh yeah more money.
It is very expensive there, but worth every single penny.

All you need in Hawaii is tops, shorts and 'flip flops' that seems to be the 'national dress' any more! I always take one nice outfit but mostly that's all you need.Hope you enjoy.

u guys answers are so long jus wear watever u would wear during the summer. And be prepared to maybe get sunburns.

A lot of sunscreen and a good sun hat! Try to bring most personal care items with you as everything is very expensive in Hawaii. Light, airy clothing - it is very hot and humid. Lots of film for your camera! You will have a great time!

1. bathing suit (pack it in your carry on in case your luggage gets misrouted like mine always does)
2. Sunscreen, toiletries, skin so soft for bugs in the evening if you wish to walk
3. Boogie board or surf board, if you like that.
4. Shorts, tops, one pair of long pants
5. Sneakers, one pair of nice shoes if you go out
6. Something warm if you are on Maui and wish to see the sunrise at Haleakala (the crater... it's awesome!)
7. Money
8. A good book or two if you like to read
9. If you forget something, the ABC Stores has everything, including great beach towels (inexpensive, but they last...)

sunscreen, shades, hat, bikini. it's not cold during this time. it's actually pretty humid. you just want to protect yourself from sun. that's it. then you can bring your own personal things like cell phone, makeup, etc.

Hawaii climate is the same as the Philippines. So what ever you need here you need there.
