it isnt that scary at all. There are no HUGEEE drops and no loops. it's a small coaster. i was actually on the people mover (i forget what they call it now) but it's the ride that goes through the space mtn building.. and all the lights were on in space mtn b/c they were doing work to it.. and the track is so simple! the only thing is.. like others have said is its pretty dark.. but you can still kind of see... and i always feel like i'm going to hit my head on the tracks above.. so i always duck! lol i don't know if anyone else feels like that but you obiviously dont hit ur head! haha |

no--it's just dark---the hulk and dueling dragons are much more intense--if u can do thundermountain rr u can do space mountain~~~~ |

I went on Space Mountain in Disney Land and it was wimpy. I then took a buddy to Disney World. He was scared to death of roller coasters but a sci-fi fanatic. I told him he would love Space Mountain in Disney World cause it has all the space stuff but was a nice easy ride. Well, about half way up the first ascent, I realized that any correlation between Space Mountain CA and Space Mountain FL was in name only. The Florida one is actually a great ride, but not for someone afraid of coasters. I was lucky my buddy didn't kill me after wards. |

Yes and no, I delayed riding it till my third trip. I wish now I would have tried it sooner. It is dark and you can not see the twist and drops. but I think that made it easier for me. |

If your scared of dark places and not knowing where you're going them probabaly the first time you go on it you'll be a little scared. But once you've gone on it once you'll want to go on it again!
There are no big drops and no loops, it just goes fast.
If you want to know what its like without going on it, ride blue line first in tomorrowland, it will take you around and show you the place, it passes through space mountain and you can see the carts going by in it. |

No, it's a lot of fun. It's an "inside" ride, not like an outdoor roller coaster where you feel like you are going to fly out. Try it, you'll like it--it's scary, but in a good way--butterflies in the tummy, etc. |

i have two younger sisters, they were 7 and ten at the time, and both really scared of rollar coasters, but i managed to force them on that one, and the LOVED IT. its not scary, and it doesnt go too fast either. you will have a ball! |

I always tend back out like last minute LOL.
Space Mountain wasn't the most thrilling rollercoaster, which is good for me. It was was remotely scary because it was dark. But it was definitely the most FUN :). |

I am a ride wimp and went to WDW several times before I was brave enough to try it - I started out by walking up there with a friend as she was going to ride and I was just keeping her company but I did get on.
Because it is dark you don't get as disorientated as when you are on an outside coaster as there is no frame of reference or speeding scenery to make you dizzy.
Someone that worked there suggested that I NOT be the first person in the first car - good advice. You don't get that big drop by being in the second car you have some warning.
I go on it a lot now - at least 2 or 3 times every trip but I do notice that the coaster on the left is faster than the one on the right (or at least it feels that way to me)

no its not scary at all....it is hella fun an it is such a thrill. you can't see anything cuz it's all dark. plus, the ride itself is a very smooth one so it's not like really bumpy to the point where you have to hold on.
GO ON IT!!!! you will be super happy you did. just remember to put your hands up high n screaM! |

No..i have a friend who works there and well i go to there a alot. I love going to space mountain...i have a friend who as well hate roller coaters and he wouldnt go on it but we told him it was fun rather than scary. So he went and had fun..it actually became 1 of his favorite rides in Disney =) |

it starts out calm you see these space things then when you stop a bit it says these things about charging up and then boom u go on this track and the background is riddled with stars and the there are a few sharp turns but now loop, its quite amazing but its pretty loud at the the end you can print out the picture they have of you on the car,i am sure when you go on it you will love it |

nooo its not really scary.
its reeally fun though, its a rollercoaster with a bunch of space lights..it kind of feels like yur actually in space.
but you don't know where your going...its dark.
and bumpy at times. |

NOO!!!! lol...... i thought the same thing.... the worst part of the ride is waiting in line while ur nerves pile up!!! And when u just put ur seatbelt on and u know that there is no turning bacK!!!!!!! lollolol. It feels just lik u are in space. It feels kind of slow in the beginning............... and then eventually it gets faster in the end! Go for it! U'll hav a blast.... and if u don't go on the ride..... u r soooo gonna regret it!!!!!!! lol

BUTTTT theres no loops, its a space simulation coaster basically and thers stars and everything
its just ups, downs, and some turns
its amazing and worth it please go on or i'll be mad you didnt and so will you
the only thing a bit scary is not knowing exactly what it looks like since its dark but dont worry |

You get into the ride, its all dark, you have loud music, "stars" everywhere, lights flashing and, it goes kinda fast..
if you think you can handle that then go on

No it's not. By today's roller coaster standards it's actually pretty tame. The ricketty wooden roller coaster in Frontier Town (in Disney World) is worse. Space Mountain is fun and you'll be gald you went. No sweat. Go, and ENJOY! |

I love it it's not bad at all. It doesn't even go fast (too me) and im a big wimp also at rides. I will NOT ride rollercoasters. This ride went by so fast and it was so fun, not scary at all and plus it's in the dark so you can't see anything but stars. |

I sooo hate roalling coasters... I can't even look at them..
and I'm from mexico but when I went to disney I was like... I didn't come all the way here just for nothing so I went to space mountain and guess what?! I definetely loved it! It's like sooo not scary at all unlike the other roalling coasters...
I think that was my favorite game hehe..

I feel ya so when I went after standing in line for over an hour (get a fast past) I grabbed a front seat even scarier....!!!!!
It's all that much better...and diffidently do it! Now mt. everest is always closed when I go to animal kingdom or it's stuck up in the mountain...and there for have never been on it...scary! |

Yes, mainly because its dark and loud (music in your ears). With the lights on, its just a roller coaster. Go on it, have fun. Remember they make them safe, and you will be safe riding on it. |
