Go walk around The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village
take the Rouge Tour- to see how cars are manufactured

go to Greektown
if you are old enough and into alternative music / dancing and people watching? go to Leland City Club
http://lelandcityclub.net/index.php?page=about
take in a Tigers game
go to the Fairlane Manor ( not too far from the Museum and Village) and see where Henry Ford Lived and died

Hello I found a great website to help you in choosing what attractions you may want to visit. There are so many wonderful places to go and things to see in Detroit. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your stay. =)

I just love it when folks like Phardoe prattle on about how bad Detroit is, especially when they don't live here. I wonder how did he find the time to answer considering he spends so much time changing his panties.

Detroit can be a wonderful place, the folks are quite friendly and you have a lot of very good suggestions from other Answerers.

Enjoy your time here, there is a lot to see and do depending on your interests. The music scene is quite active whether you favorite tunes are classical or techno. Both are well represented.

Detroit is a really cool town once you get past the type casting. For a list of what's going on during the weekend you are there, go to: www.clickondetroit.com
If you are staying downtown, you can check out Greektrown, Hockey Town Cafe, Belle Isle or any of the casino's. Mexican Town is also pretty cool.

Depends on when you are coming through-go to www.visitdetroit.com and check out the events for when you will be here. also go to metrotimes.com and realdetroit.com for other exciting events.

also check out fort wayne, greenfield village and henry ford musuem, find out if there are public events for boblo island, check out the schedule for chene park (if you are coming soon universal soul circus will be) fox theater, joe louis and cobo hall. try the casinos-mgm is my fav but motor city has the best food.

have fun

Detroit is nasty. I would go over to Canada, its a lot cleaner and safer and more fun.

Techno and House is best in Detroit as is clubbing. I've
heard about this frequently from Naval and Merchant Marine
seamen mostly. Raves are frequent if intense and the lively
crowd seems rather more desperate. Keep in mind this region isn't called a 'rust belt' state for no reason. Signs of better times surround you, like monuments, tidy community
areas, but you won't see much of that in two days. Pretend
you are a sailor on two day leave and you'll be fine.

Go to Windsor, in Canada, but bring a passport to get back into the US. It's safe over there, but not in Detroit, esp if you don't know where you're going (hint: stay out of the neighborhoods).

well i definately feel sorry for you for going there...it's a depressing city considering it's in its decaying stage, take a drive down 7 mile road, 8 mile road, 6 mile road, and 5 mile road you'll see what i mean, but seriously the canadian boarder is right downtown detroit so go over to the other side to have fun, they have casino's

oh and notice how all the cars are american...it's funny
