You may not know that Austin Texas is known as "the live music capitol of the world" and hosts the South by Southwest Music Festival. All genres and the best of each. We have big cities (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio) and big towns (Ft Worth, Austin) and great small towns with flavor (Fredericksburg, New Braunfels).

We have great schools (Univ of Texas, Rice Univ, SMU, Texas A&M, Baylor) and great recreation (the gulf coast).

We have cowboys and city slickers. And we do everything BIG.

You're not from Texas but Texas wants you anyway.

Don't feel bad for us. We are so far ahead of you and your state that it is ridiculous. Life is great when you love horses and working and not taking free hand outs. As far as the country music we love that too. It reminds us how low the morals are of folks not living in Texas. Cowboy boots are some of the most expensive footwear you can wear so sorry you can't afford them as well as the hats they are expensive also and they do make a person so attractive. Maybe when you grow up and hit the lottery you can move to Texas and understand just how great it is here. We still love you and you are welcome. I will make sure you have a place to sleep on top of the old farm house.

You're right ... Texas IS so amazing! It's got the biggest, bluest, cleanest and most beautiful skies anywhere! ... and the friendliest people too! .....Sorry, but I haven't seen any pigs lately; or even anyone wearing a cowboy hat and boots! As for the country music, it's sure beats hip hop, rap or that other screechy stuff that passing for music now.....

Can't you people tell this person is being sarcastic? I have been to TX hundreds of times, and I live in Oklahoma. The first time I saw a real cowboy outside of a rodeo was on a trip to Colorado.
Dallas used to be great until they let the gangsta wannabees take over the West End. I don't go there after dark now. The Deep Ellum district in Dallas still kicks ***, as does the Copper Tank Brewery.

Yep, you're so right. Texas is darn amazing! Sorry I'm just now answering this, but I've been out feeding the chickens and slopping the hogs. I just got in from milkin' old Bessie. What? You mean there's other music besides country music? I never heard such! I declare! Well I have to run along now and dust off the cowboy boots so I can saddle up and ride on out to the county fair.

You .... are insulting Tx. I can't beleive that you're mistaking Texas as some ... cartoon, this is a serous state, not a laughing stock. We don't wear cowboy hats, we ride horses for fun, not to do the disgracful things you lying about. We are just like anyother state and we live in towns not little farms!!!!! I am one of the many people who listen to heavy metal around texas. Some of us HATE country music, I myself listen to a little of it but i love death metal to, you're practically calling our state a stupid giddy little thing. Don't you know anything about history we fought long hard battles to be where we are at, you obviously don't respect that.!!!!!!

Yes and we all have oil wells in our back yards which by the way are so huge,we have to drive around in a convertible cadillac with steers horns decorating the front grill.
Oh and Texas is not like any other state. It was an independent country with its own Declaration of Independence,a Constitution,a Supreme Court,and a Legislature,with an army and a navy. It even had its own money(Texas dollar- 1/4 value of American dollar).
When Texas was admitted to the Union under the Polk administration,one of the main conditions was that Texas could go back to being and independent country at any time with 2/3 vote from the Texas Legislature.
So yes,Texas IS amazing.
