The worst city you've ever visited?

What is the worst city you've ever been to and why? I have to say...New Orleans (pre-Katrina) was a huge disappoint for me....very dirty, expensive and tons of unfriendly people!

Charlotte, NC! I went there for a business trip a few years, and it was the most boring city I've ever been to. Everything closed down at 5:00, and it was like a ghost town. It was so bizarre for a "city" to be like that.

I have to disagree with the person who said Portland. (I'm biased since I live here.) Yes, it does rain a lot, but it's one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been in. It's so green and alive with people, and very clean. I tempt you to come back in July or August and see if you get a different idea of the city!

Belize city, Belize it is the armpit of the world

Wow_look_@_me
I was born in New Orleans, and yes it may be dirty and filthy, but its mostly because of the Hurricanes and Storms. They trash everything up. And it is expensive, but its usually for a good reason (like, its a popular brand or made in a different country)

But the worst town I have been to, would have to be Arcata, CA.
Hobos galore, and Hippies galore. And its FILTHY!

Tutxla Gutiererez, the capital of Chiapas, Mexico.
It is gray and drab and ugly.

They have a nice zoo, except none of the animals are around because of the heat. I did see one jaguar... that was cool.

But it is an excellent city to travel from.

I would have to say Saly Lake City Utah. It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be and it was dirty.

san antonio texas. dirty and i only encountered rude people. my second would be dallas texas (not dirty, but the people were mean there too). it's all relative though, you said new orleans and i found that to be one of the friendliest cities, everyone was nice to me there. i also found nashville to be friendly. it's weird how people can have such different experiences.

San Francisco. Smells like p!ss even in the nice parts.

I couldn't agree more with you about New Orleans. I was there for a convention like 10 years ago and I was shocked by how dirty it was - and all the homeless teenagers - depressing.

I didn't think much of Paris, France either. People were very rude and the artists on every corner, acting like beggars - though the art and the city itself were interesting.

SORRY GUYS--SHE DID ASK---NEWARK , N.J.---have never in my life felt such utter despair ---the very air in that city was simply laden with it and some odd aura of almost primal impending trauma all around I was so relieved to leave I remember looking over at my partner and the two of us at the same time just cracked up laughing because we had actually had lived thru it all

It will always be in line with the numbers of non-Whites in the city. A "slum" or "bad area" or "high crime" area is ALWAYS an area with many non-Whites. There are many poor White areas that are very safe so poverty and crime do not need to go together. Race and crime do. Most all crime in this nation is commited by non-Whites. Most of the victims of violent crime are White. Most all major and many minor cities have darkened and thus are terrible places to visit for White people.

L.A. was the worst I have been to followed by N.Y. then Chicago, then Racine WI and Milwaukee WI. I was in all of those areas for several weeks and not just in the tourist or downtown areas. I travel a lot and so I could name many more hell hole slummy cities. Boise Idaho is a clean safe city to visit though the metizo populations are growing greatly and it will not be a nice city much longer. It has under 1% ******* and molatto populations and that is aLWAYS a good sign.

All of the nice cites I have visited are over 90% White. Once you get 10 to 15% metizo or even 5% ******* the city is doomed. For those that go into a city only to shop downtown and guzzle poison, those that ignore the slums surrounding the city, you may think all cities are great. In reality to get a decent idea of what a city is really like you must go beyond the small protected downtown and into the actual city since it makes up most of the city territory.
