Things to do in Kansas City?

So, my father, brother and I are going to Kansas City for the weekend and I was just wondering what kinds of things there are to do there?

I dont want us to just be sitting around looking at each other for the whole time.

What kinds of museums, restaurants, and other things that don't cost toooo much money?

thanks!

This has lots of touristy things.

Don't forget World of Fun, Nelson Atkins Museum, Harry S. Truman Library, go shopping on the Plaza.

You have to have BBQ. You can do the big guys like Gates, Arthur Bryant's, Jackstack, but don't ignore the little guys that have not gone nationwide. I guarantee that the way we feel about BBQ, those little BBQ joints would not be there if the food was not worthy.

There are a lot of things to do in Kansas City.
Up north of the river you have Worlds of fun and Oceans of fun. Coming up here soon, Worlds of fun will be having their Halloween Weekend thing.

You also have the zoo. I haven't been there, but you also have Starlight Theater. That is really cool to go and watch a play.

For food, on the plaza, you have the Cheesecake Factory(fairly expensive), or if you are in the mood for fondue, you can go to the melting pot(also fairly expensive.)

You also have Crown Center. If you go in the winter, you have ice skating. In Crown Center, you can eat a Fritz's. It's a burger joint where little trains running along the ceiling deliver your food. It's really cool.
Right now you also have the two haunted houses open if you are in the mood for scary.
You have "The Beast" and "The Edge of Hell" (That's the real name, sry if it offends anyone!)

All in all, there are lots of things to do here!

If you need anything else, you can e-mail me!

Hope you have fun!

Just use the links others have provided. KC has lots to do and see. Try the BBQ for sure. The Plaza is beautiful, and the fountains there are true works of art. KC is a hopping town, there will be no sitting.

Go to the Plaza, which is in Kansas City, Missouri or Westport in Kansas City Missouri. Another fun shopping and entertainment area is the Legends which is in Kansas City Kansas.
Have fun, there's tons to do here.

Well, it's Monday, so if you haven't made it here yet, don't forget about the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. It's located in Bonner Springs, KS, near the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Don't forget to try one of the famous Turkey Legs!
