Been there several times. Enjoyed myself every single time. THe best time was in 1995 when I went with my brother, cousin and friend. We hired a car and drove from New York to down to Florida and back again. We stayed for 7 weeks and had a brilliant time. Sometimes we stayed at friends' houses and sometimes in hotels and sometimes in motels. We even stayed a few nights at a summer camp which was great. We met loads of friendly people and everyone was really good to us. We tried to experience everything we could. America was just like the movies but better. My friend eventually moved out there as he liked it so much. |

I used to live in Singapore. I love the USA so much and have visited it so many times that I eventually met my husband in one of my visits. We corresponded and got married and I have been living here in Florida and travelling around since 1984.
There are so many things to see and it all depends on your interests. There are Historical places of interest in many parts of the country: both Eastern and Western and in between. Natural wonders like the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Niagara Falls in New York State, the Rockies mountain range and the Cascades mountain range, Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, take a ride on a steam boat along the Mississippi river, go see a rodeo in Texas or any place with a Western flair, visit Cape Canaveral to see the Space Center in Florida, lots of beaches in Florida both along the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Also there are amusement parks : many in Florida and California and also elsewhere. San Francisco on the West coast has some nice places to see: Fisherman's wharf, ride a cable car that's unique to this city, see the crookedest street in the world (Lombard Street), visit the famous former prison on Alcatraz island, while you're there take a trip to Yosemite national park and view some nice mountain peaks and waterfalls. It would take pages for me to describe the many things you can see and do here in the USA. Remember that it is a whole continent! It has many things that would suit various tastes/interests. Even food is so varied. You need to visit a travel agent and ask for a catalog/brochure and whet your appetite to come visit us here. I normally would do research by going to the library and read all you can about the USA.
Ask the librarian to direct you to the subject of your interest e.g. Natural wonders in the USA, or do a research on a few popular area/ cities e.g. West Coast towns of the USA or Los Angeles or San Francisco or Seattle or New York City.
I wish you success in your quest for information and I hope I have helped you some. |

Welcome to Colorful Colorado
 |
I currently live in Colorado. I have lived in Wisconsin and California as well. Been to most all lower 48 states (except the New England states).
In my opinion the west is the best. People out west are friendly and relaxed and there are wide open spaces. I have been living in Colorado for 12 years now and I love it. Everytine I go on vacation I just cannot wait to get back home! Now how many people can say that they cannot wait to get back home from vacation?
I love the mountains and miss them terribly when I am away. The mountains look different each and everyday depending on the cloud coverage, sun, rain, snow, etc... The only bad thing about living here in Colorado is that it seems most everyone else wants to move here too.
My next place I want to visit is AK. I hear that's America's last frontier; many many untouched places with true wildlife, serenity and beauty. I hear that Denali National Park is the best National Park that this country has to offer.
Enjoy your next trip to the States. |

I live in the states and they rock my socks off. I've been to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania,Virginia, North Carolina,
Georgia...just to name some i can think of.
In OHiO...the best state =]
Go to Kings Island in Ohio. It has some of the best roller coasters i have ever ridden in my life. Son of beast, beast, drop zone, delirium, flight of fear, firehawk. Those are my faves.
In Cincinatti (city in Ohio)....
Cincinatti Zoo--> Really cute animals, nice exhibits. Good place to spend a few hours and just hang out. Awesome Manatee exhibit. Polar bears house is pretty cool too.
Newport Aqurium--> Heard its nice, but havent been in a few years
Go see a baseball game when the CiNCiNATTi REDS play. Bronson Arroyo is the best pitcher ever!!!! woot =]
Yeah thats all I know. But still. Go to Gatlinburg, Tennessee too. Fun place. |

Oh there is so much to do and so many people over here would be willing to help ensure that you had a lovely time. It really depends on what you want to see/do/experience. Do you want to go to the "heartland", Disney World, the Southern part of the U.S., Mardi Gras, NYC, Atlanta, Las Vegas, California, skiing, (snow or water), etc. The Carolina's are beautiful, lived there for about 2 years. Did not like the people that much, but then again I am from the Hospitality state and I will admit that some were nice, but much more reserved that I am accustomed to. If you would like to write to me and let me know what you would like to do, feel free, will help in any way that I can. Enjoy your visit!!!!!!!!!! |

Come out West for a little bit. Soak up the sights and sounds of California. Personally I like the Bay Area the best, although San Diego and LA are nice (LA is rather big, but there's lots to do).
Maybe hit up Vegas, come over to Arizona and see the Grand Canyon, heck, maybe go up to the Pacific Northwest and hang out in Portland or Seattle.
Wherever you go, have a good one. |

I've been lots of times too and absolutely love it. One day I'm going to do the big road trip from one side to the other. I've had a couple of trips to Florida, driving all over it from the top all the way down to the Keys and back up the other side. I've been to New York a few times and across to Washington. Las Vegas is my favourite place in the world and got married there 7 years ago. We've covered quite a bit of the west coast, San Diego, LA, Palm Springs and we've driven up the coast to San Franscisco. Across to Vegas stopping at Death Valley, Yosemite, Utah and onto the Grand Canyon and Colorado.
I think my favourite trip was one we did last year when we flew into Atlanta and did a circular tour taking in Memphis, Nashville, Tupelo, Charleston, Savannah - beautiful areas. It was a very 'musical' trip.
Sorry, I've prattled on a bit here, can't help it, I just love it!! |

I'm as cool as ice cubes

Yes, been there twice touring and 4 times to Florida. One three week tour through the southern states and the other through the western states and the Rockies. It was amazing, took in all the National Parks as well. Every day brought new sights and surprises. It was "awsome". Everyone I met was very friendly. I loved it and I will go again. Love Florida too, especially the Gulf Coast. The 9 or 10 hr flight is definetely worth it . |

I am English. I am in love with both New York and Chicago.
I've been to New York 4 times and it feels like I have known it all my life. I love the buzz, the people, the food, the mood, the noise, the crowds, the music, the park, the village, the restaurants, the accents....and everything!!!!
Chicago is more intimate but just as cosmopolitan. My favourite morning is to go down to the Navy Pier for a brisk walk before going up to Fox and Obels for a breakfast of eggs benedict with shaved truffle and a mug of chai latte.
If you aren't ready for a robust shopping expedition on North Michigan after that...you are already dead!
I also love outside the cities how the small town diners really care that your meal was good enough. None of that European indifference!
Whatever political problems we might have with America...the American people are the nicest you could ever meet. I go a bit red when they call me 'Sir!' |

New York, the Shows are great, and eating is cheap and good. Grand Canyon and the painted desert, All of Colorado, Dodge City, Indian Country....I could go on but I love it so much and have made many friends all over.
