Universal Studios or Disney?

Hi,
I'm trying to plan a holiday to Orlando because there are two amusement parks there and I love them both!
Problem is, if I was to go to both, I would return to England almost bankrupt or in serious debt! Which park would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.
Additional Details
As a person who looks deeply into the future financially, I do not want to overspend the budget that I have got! Going to both parks will only result in me being in a large pool of... you get my point.

If you're looking to have fun and be in your budget, I recommend
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.

There's only 2 parks but you'll have all the fun.
Universal Studio is all about the movies, you've got the Mummy Adventure ride, Jaws, Men in Black, ET, The Terminator and more.

Islands of Adventure, you have all the thrilling rides: The Hulk, Dooms Fall, Dudley Do Right, Popeye, Jurassic Park and the best of all, Dueling Dragons.

If you go online, they will have discounts for online ticket buyers and they have discounts for 2 park tickets. You can also get the Express Passes online for a cheaper price depending on the days posted on there.

I am a Florida resident and I hold the Premier Season Pass. I go to the parks at least once a week.
If you have any questions, I wouldn't mind letting you know about the parks and rides.

If your in to rides, Universal Islands of Adventure is a good choice. If you enjoy rides, but not something that will make you sick-Disney Magic Kingdom is a better choice. I've been a Floridian 23 yrs and have been to all the parks. I think Magic Kingdom is better value for your money and you can definitly make a day out of it without ever riding the same thing twice. Even though most people think of Magic Kingdom as a place for kids, I've been going my whole life and its truly one of those places that makes you feel like a kid yourself. Its so festive and though this sounds cheesy, it really does feel magical! Hell, I got engaged there 2 yrs ago! At Islands of Adventure there isn't that much to do and is primarily geared towards thrill-seekers.

Depends on which you like better:

Fun rides, lots of fun, but nothing TOO scary: Disney
Thriller, ready for adventure: Universal

Disney has great rides that are fun, but not as scary as Universal. Some of my all time favorites are:
Big Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Tower of Terror
That Goofy's Barn ride is very fun
The Haunted Mansion

I went to Universal once, and never went to Islands of Adventure. Universal was fun, but I think Disney is the best. Especially the water parks!

I would say Disney because there are more parks. I'm going to Orlando next month. I can't wait!!!

There are more thrill rides at Islands of Adventure than any other theme park in central FL. Depending on when you go you shouldn't have a huge fight with crowds.

universal studios is great during the day, then use your pass for islands of adventure (also a univ park) @ night for great rides & entertainment.

aah just got back from both this week lol. i would reccomend universal due to the fact one ticket gives acess to both theme parks, but disney will charge you extra for more park access.

Universal Studios every time.
Before I ever visited Orlando, I was under the impression that all their theme parks were just for kids.
How wrong was I.
Having now been there 3 times, I can honestly say it's like a fantasy playground for adults......Brilliant!
Although all of the theme parks are all very enjoyable, I've always looked forward more to visiting Universal.

I would recommend Universal for you because of the rides that they have there. Which are great thrills. However since there are only two parks you could maybe go to both universal parks then maybe go to one disney park?

I would suggest MGM because of tower of terror, rock n rollercoaster and the backlot tour. Or Animal kingdom because of expedition everest, kali river rapids, dinosaur and the safari.

Hope you make the right choice.

Universal every time. Which also includes Islands of Adventure and City Walk for concerts, good food and bars.

If you only go to one Disney park I would suggest Animal Kingdom - unless you have small kids.

Have a thrilling time.

I would always plump for disney not only do you have four park but countless other disney attactions ,so when you buy your 14 day ultimate ticket you get access to all of these.one tip from experience buy you ticket before you go its cheaper and you dont have to worry about that extra ticket money when you get there its already paid for, one good company is

have a nice stay

I would go with DisneyWorld, they have more theme parks and you would get the most out of your money. Universal only have two theme parks and with DisneyWorld you can get a fastpass that lets you cut the line on some of the most popular rides. Universal won't let you do that unless you stay at one of their resorts for 2 or 3 nights.

Yah!
Universal Studios/Islands Of Adventure I just went there and it was wicked fun!! They had some cool Roller Coasters, my favorite The Hulk at Islands Of Adventure. Universal Studios has some really cool simulations. One of them being twister and it imitated someone being in a tornado. I really enjoyed the Universal Studios/Islands Of Adventure Parks they were clean and fun!! They also had good food. Disney is way to crowded.

Universal all the way

Two parks on 1 site, Islands of Adventure and the main one, rides are far better much more fun, where as Disney is spread over many parks and each one has probably 2 decent rides in each and the rest is just shops, whereas Universal has a good 15 rides and the main complex.

My children 6 & 8 loved Universal as did I at 30, Disney wasn't much cop

Have fun

Since you want trill rides you should go to Islands Of Adventure.

U can get passes for both parks for around £200 pounds?. If you are going all that way surely u can can afford to get tickets for both places. Have a look around on the net and compare prices and buy ur passes before u go.
It will be a real shame to pay all that money out to go to Orlando and yet only visit one of these great parks.
