Vacationing/hotel question:?

So I'm going on vacation, and the check-in time for the hotel is 3pm. So does that mean I have to be there right AT 3pm, or does that mean anytime after that? Thanks :)

Anytime after 3 pm. Sometimes they might have the room ready a little earlier, but, not always.

fuzzylogic_y2k
Generaly it means any time after that. It is always a good idea to call the hotel to confirm the reservation as some places will try to give your room away if you are too late. IE after 9pm. If the room is prepaid and confirmed it is yours if you show up or not. That is why I like priceline.

Anytime after that...no problem...

Beach Gal
Anytime after 3pm. In the meantime, visit nearby attractions or go shopping until your room is ready. If you are staying in a Disney World Hotel, they will check your bags early and have them waiting for you in your room when you return!

Typically means anytime after 3pm. However, most hotels will allow you to check in before that, if your room is ready. Even if its not, they will usually hold your bags for you until you check in if you arrive early.

Anytime after 3:00.

However if you will be really late, you might want to call ahead to confirm you are coming

anytime after 3pm

You can sometimes check in earlier if they have clean rooms available. Make sure you gaurantee your room for a late arrival otherwise it becomes open at 6PM, they are no longer obligated to hold it for you.

any time after

I work in a hotel. Check in time is when you can check in...either at the time or after, but usually not before. However, if you arrive early and prefer to get your bags out of the car most hotels will store them for you.

Good luck!

Typically, that means you can't check in until that time. Any time afterwards is when they can guarantee that a room is available. Because housecleaning has to go through and clean the rooms, hotels will tell guests that clean room won't be available until around 3pm or so. Depending on the hotel you're staying at, you can check in early, leave your luggage for the bellhops to deliver to your room when the room is ready, and then you're free to go out and enjoy the day. That's how it works at most of the Disney resorts.

Any time after that, as you probably won't be able to get into the room prior.
Unless you cancel a reservation by the cancellation time, the hotel will hold the room all night for you. You'd be surprised at how many people check into hotels in the middle of the night (and for legitimate reasons, too)

You can arrive earlier and leave your luggage; most hotels will keep them safe for you and even bring them to your room when it is ready.

depends....
technically anytime after three pm and before 6pm without a credit card hold on the room.

if you have a credit card holding the reservation - you can show up at 11:59pm without a concern. after midnight very possibly the card will be charged a no show fee - depending on their policy.

sometimes, depending on their occupancy the night prior - you can even check in BEFORE 3pm ; )

Well, it means anytime after 3 pm. But many, if not MOST major hotels, will let you check in early. Just call ahead and ask them for an early check in time. They will usually let you, as they have sooooo many rooms, and nearly all are clean by then. Hint: if they won't let you, ask them where the next closest friendly hotel is. They'll let you then!
