They aren't actual vampires, in the sense that they're the undead. They tell themselves that they're vampires and take on the characteristics for a variety of reasons: shock value, or mental illness, or a simple reluctance to be ordinary. They page through a few Anne Rice books and they want to be as cool and sexy as Lestat and they say, "I'm gonna be a vampire!" |
