Vegas for 2 weeks June/July? |
Hello all i dont know if anyone can help?
Im going to Vegas end of June to the 2nd week in July, and Im lookin for any useful information ya know like, best place to eat, bargains, things to do and see etc.
Im also a little unsure of how much £/$ to take with me.... I know its difficult to budget on a holiday like that but i need to be realistic as well!
Im booking a tour with Maverick Helicopters to see the Grand Canyon and go on the Sky walk I CANT WAIT!!!!
So any feed back would be brill! Thanks in advance!
Charlotte x Additional Details I am staying at the New York New York Hotel so i dont have to worry about paying extra for that as it is already paid for. So im already going on one tour, and then im hoping to see Phantom
of the Opera which I am a huge fan of! I dont actually plan on taking credit cards.... but cash and travellers cheques. My boyfriend will be taking his card with him and some cash so should be ok. Just rather take too much than not enough as running out of money would be awful!!!!! What is the mile mall like? any good?! Im hoping to buy lots of goodies in terms of make up and fragrance as I LOVE IT! also a pair of ghd hair stylers would be nice!
Charlotte
i would love!
Thanks for all of the replies so far! they are great! |

Normally I would recommend $100 to $250 per day per person. Divide your money into equal amounts for each day. When you finish that amount that day then you have to stop spending for that day. What is left over is put into the next days amount. You have a long stay, a lot longer than most people so you have to be especially careful. Gambling can suck up your money very very quickly so watch yourself there.
You should read over this website especially this page for first timers in Vegas. Explains a lot of things you should know. |

been here since 72...start off by going down to Fremont st.They have these Information booths, about 5 of them for Information with discount books, bargains, etc etc...there is plenty to do without gambling...have fun!
hint--if you like to shop, there is the fashion show mall on the strip.STAY OUT OF THAT ONE..lol...way to expensive. We have 2 other malls not to far away. One on Maryland Pkwy, and one on Decatur st...it will save you some money.
from new york new york...go east on Tropicana for about a10 minute drive and on your left you will see the university of Nevada las Vegas..home of the running rebels ...you'lll hit Maryland pky...make a left for about another 15 minute drive for mall. |

just make sure to bring your credit cards no matter how much cash you bring.
I usually bring about $1000 for 1 week, but always come back with some of it. I just like to have more than enough at all times. |

When you go to Vegas, make sure you get a good amount of money, if you want to gamble (you will land up going it). Take a look at this website: http://local.yahoo.com/results?fr=dd-local-more&stx=places+to+visit&csz=Las+Vegas%2C+NV |

July will be hot but nice if you have a good pool IMO. I recommend to check the site http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find a lot of hotel promotion codes there. If a pool is an issue for you I suggest to stay at Mandalay Bay or MGM, they have great pool scenes. |

Vegas can be cheap and expensive depending on what you intend to do. If you are gambling majority of your time gamble off the strip your chances are Altot better of staying with your money. If your looking at additional shows check out the hotel website or go to broadwaybox.com for discounts. There are alot of cheap mid day shows to see without break the bank. If you want entertainment or discounts go to www.vegas.com or www.247vegas.com/default.aspx for some ideals. For bargain places to eat check www.cheapovegas.com for plenty of ideals. When it comes to money i would recommend at least a $150.00 per day for drinking, eating and extras per person. The mall downtown which you take the DEUCE ($7.00 for 24 hours) and a transfer offers the best deals. Avoid the Taxi's they are a waste of your money. If you like clubs you find passes either at the club or around at restaraunts inside the casino and stores. |

I've been going to Vegas every June for the past 10 years and yes it's hot! If you love to spend your day at the pool it's perfect. I would bring some type of hoodie or sweater for the casino's at night. It's so beautiful at night but you will freeze each time you walk into a casino.
I really wouldn't recommend going to Vegas to spend time at the mall. It's just another mall, you can do that anywhere. There are so many gorgeous casino's to see and countless things to do. Don't waste your time and money on shopping. And bring shoes you can walk in!
I usually bring $100-$150 per day, I don't gamble much at all. I love to go just to sight see and watch all of the interesting people, it's my "girls getaway" every year.
You mentioned New York New York, they have a fun dual piano bar! If you like to have a few cocktails, Carnival Court is a blast! It's down by between Harrah's and The Flamingo. As far as shows....it depends on your taste, there is something for everyone! Just read, read, read.
Have a blast and good luck! |

I went to Vegas the first time about 2 years ago. It was awesome! Definitely go to some shows. Go see a cirque du soleil show. They are awesome! We tried to find the cheap buffets they always show on TV but were not able to find any. We did go to the Mirage buffet and it was awesome. Kind of expensive for a buffett ($25) but well worth it. As far as money goes I spent approximately $1500 (that's not including hotel and flight). Stay on the strip. We didn't and we spent so much money on transportation. Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk a lot. Once you go to Vegas, you'll be back. We were there for 1 week and still didn't have enough time to do and see everything we wanted. Definately go see the fountain show at the Bellagio. Check out the Eiffel Tower at Paris. Check out Freemont street. It's very different from the strip. So much fun! And you have to go to Madam Tussauds was museum. But most importantly, Have fun! |

I went there on a honeymoon with my wife. If you're looking to budget, you can get some good room rates if you don't mind staying in an older casino, probably on the strip if you're going in mid summer. Pick up water and snacks somewhere outside the casino or you'll probably pay a lot for them too.
Get in touch with a Vegas visitors' center and see if you can get a catalog for the month you're going before you get there. I let my wife book the shows, so we saw Zumanity and Phantom, paying outrageous prices for them. We weren't crazy about Zumanity, but she loved Phantom, and we had no trouble getting a table at Buchon to eat before the show, so I was happy with the food. Personally I would have been happy seeing more cheesy shows (we saw Sirens on the Strip which is free, and they had an audience acted version of Point Break) or comedy (Dennis Miller and Penn and Teller were there), but she picked the shows and I picked the food, so we spent about equal money ($100 a day total for each of us) because we had some nice meals including Inoteca San Marco and Wolfgang Puck's Postre. You've just got to figure out what's important to you. I think there's a Denny's on the strip just down from the Venetian if you don't want to budget that much for food.
Expect to walk A LOT. If that's problem, contact your hotel and arrange a scooter, my wife had fun with hers but sometimes the elevators in front of the casino don't work, so you have to go an extra quarter or half mile out of your way. Enjoy your trip! |
