We are going to be at Disney World the 2nd week in March. What kind of clothing should I pack? |
I tend to over pack for every trip we ever take, but I would rather have too much than not enough. However, I really have no idea what I need to be packing for this trip to Orlando. Please help!! Thanks! Additional Details I tend to over pack for every trip we ever take, but I would rather have too much than not enough. However, I really have no idea what clothes I need to be packing for this trip to Orlando. I have been to FL many many times but never in March. It's always been in the summertime when its nice and HOT. I will have the full size stroller in the trunk as well so I am limited for luggage space. Thanks for the help! |

it seems like many people aren't giving you real asnwers and others are only giving half answers so i'll try my best to combine real answers with useful info.
weather:
in march the average high is 77 and the average night time low is 56. many days can be slightly chillier or slightly warmer. (example i just went last week and the average high for dec is 72 but most days it was about 80 and then a couple days it was more like 68 so the temps can vary from day to day)
march is typically not a very rainy month so i wouldn't be too worried about having to dodge many showers or storms.
what to bring:
a couple pairs of the following
-shorts
-capris
-jeans
types of shirts
-tee shirts
-a few dressier tops that would work well with shorts, capris, or jeans. (in other words don't bring tops that need to go with dressy bottoms cuz you will not want to be walking around disney world with dress pants and high heels. ya know)
speeking of shoes....wear SNEAKERS! bring flip flops for relaxing days. don't wear flip flops to the parks. flip flops don't give enough support for you to last all day long in them walking on hard concrete and sometimes uneven ground. plus they make your feet more vonerable to getting stepped on or rolled over by a stroller or wheel chair. and many times its so crowded that people often walk too close behind you and kick you in the heel so you need protection.
also bring
-a sweatshirt/hoodie/or light jacket for the chilly early mornings and late nights.
-pjs (may want to bring both a light pair that you would wear in the summer time and a heavier pair just incase you get a bit too cold in your air conditioned hotel room but don't feel like turning it off cuz it may get too hot and humid in the room)
-camera to capture every moment
-bathing suit
-beach towel
-sunglasses
-hat
-sunscreen
-band aids
-neosporin
-imodium
-ibuprofen/advil/tylenol (what ever pain killer you use)
-a back pack to bring to the parks
and of course the obvious
-sucks
-underwear
-bras
-deorderant
-shampoo/conditioner/body wash (but be sure to make a run to walmart and pick up the 50 cent travel size containers to put them in
-tooth paste
-tooth brush
-"woman's products" (if you need them)
-hair brush
and what ever else you feel is neccessary
i know it seems like i've listed alot of things to bring when you say you have limited trunk space but many of the things i listed are quite small and shouldn't take up too much space. the things that will take up the most space are your clothes anyways not all the other little items. |

It will probably be on the warmish side - 70s or even 80s - but the weather in FL varies widely. |

Being born in FL and not escaping for 26 years I will tell you that you should take shorts, tank tops, flip flops (might wanna wear tennis shoes because some of the rides or whatever might require them). Maybe one pair of jeans or pants and a light sweater for at night but it will be HOT HOT HOT and HUMID and miserable, lol. I will pray for you because that is also Spring Break and it will be packed.
Have fun and take sunscreen because your nose, shoulders, top of your back and chest will be burnt along with your arms and whatever else is exposed on your top half. If you are comfortable in them wear a visor or baseball hat or even a cute sun hat. You will thank me when you get there and see what Im talking about. Take sunglasses too. |

I used to live in Florida..
we used to go to Disney every year. :)
Pack shorts, tees, tank tops, and sneakers.
I wear flip flops year-round, but there's lots of walking at Disney.
And if you're planning on going on any rides where you get wet, you don't want to be slipping around in flip flops.
I hope you have a great time! |

march is the perfect time of year to go.
that is when it isn't too hot nor too cold.
yeah shorts and tee shirts. maybe one light jacket, often cold fronts bring chilly mornings in orlando. |

Bring a couple pairs of shorts with you and then enough tee-shirts that you're able to change into at least one fresh one each day. Also take something for the night incase it gets a little bit cool like a light long sleeve jacket or something like that. Also bring enough under garments as well. |

bring shorts, pants and sweatshirts, it will probably be warm during the day and cool off at night, you shouldn't need any heavy coats, you don't even need those in December and January.
don't forget swim suits, it will probably be warm enough for your kids to enjoy the hotel pool.
OOO and Ponchos!! it will rain! |

I live in FL so please listen to me. :P It is ALWAYS hot and ALWAYS humid...Our winter lasts for maybe a week... Haha!
So however long your gonna be there, lets say a week, you'll need to pack:
7 pairs of shorts
1 pair of jeans, just incase it happens to be chillier.
7 tee shirts
1 hoodie, incase it's rainy or chillier...
and You'll wanna wear sneakers the WHOLE time, you don't wanna have any ankle or feet problems... :P
Hope this helps!
(Oh, and don't forget underwear!!!!)
:D
(Smartspace13 doesn't know what he/she is talking about. It's always hot and humid.) |

Get ready for humidity. Shorts, shirts, tank tops, sandals and such. |

i would pack a few short sleave shirts, but a light jacket for cold nights. rain can happen so a poncho will elp. maybe a long sleave or two if unexpected cold comes, but weather is relativly mild in march with day temps usually in the low to mild 80s during the day and 60s at night. |

Well, it rains a lot in March and April in Orlando. They sell rain ponchos. Bring T. Shirts, shorts, capris, hats, sunglasses, tennis shoes. It is still pretty warm. When I went, in late March, I went swimming. Its good to over pack, you never know what you might need. |

Pack clothes you can layer because the weather will probably be mild like 50-60 degrees. You can also check the weather report for Orlando as your vacation nears. Good Luck! |

Unless you plan on going to very elegant restaurants or to night clubs, then casual clothing like shorts is accepted nearly everywhere. Think of the weather as if you were going to Maine in early May. It might very well be quite warm and humid, but is also possible that it will be cold and raining and windy so don't leave all your sweaters at home. It can rain in Florida with no warning, so always have a poncho handy and don't wear shoes and sox that won't turn into "foot torture devices" if they become wet. Bring several swim suits; having to put on a swim suit that is still wet from the last wearing is unpleasant.
You didn't ask, but I strongly suggest you either bring an ice chest and hot plate or get a room with a fridge and microwave. The food in the theme parks and Disney hotels is priced sky high, so I eat a hearty breakfast and pack some sandwiches and fruit. An alternative is to leave Disney for an "off campus" restaurant. |

you should look at the 10 day forecast covering the time you will be there and see what the weather will be like. i think if you go to the Disney site, they have cameras showing you how the areas look. If you call the customer service desk and speak with someone there, they can give you a real time update on the weather that day.
you will probably get things there and it may be new clothes to wear. if you are on a plane, fitting it all in one carry on may be much, or you have to pay to check in baggage. if you know where you are going to stay (hotel), you could send a package to yourself to the hotel and contact them letting them know you are enroute, if they could hold your bag so your clothes are already waiting there for you once you arrive, plus what you carry on.
i have dont that and it works well. i got the name of the represenative i spoke with and referred to my reservation under my name. |
