Las Vegas is a very casual place, with that you can dress as comfortable as you want. Most restaurants do not have dress codes, however, if you are planning on a nice dinner at one of the more upscale restaurants you could be required to have a coat. Your best bet for clothing is simple;

In Summer you will need shorts, comfortable skirts, T-shirts. Jeans and trousers are not frowned upon but denim in 105 degree heat can be uncomfortable. If you are planning on seeing a show it might be wise to clean up a little and business casual is normally adequate. On more thing, remember, no matter the temperature outside the casino temperature will be somewhere around 68 degrees, it can get a little cool.

If you decide to walk make sure you wear sunscreen. If you sit by the pool, wear sunscreen. If you think about the sun, wear sunscreen! I might be exaggerating but the last thing you need is to burn that top layer of epidermis and be stuck in your room while on holiday. Protect yourself from the Southern Nevada sun with a simple layer of SPF 30 and you will be fine.

In Winter it gets cold and you will find yourself comforted with a heavy jacket at times. Unfortunately, the casino will be a constant temperature so you will have to shed some layers while sitting at that blackjack table.

In fall and Spring you will generally be comfortable with the summer attire and a few pairs of trousers or jeans. The temperatures get comfortable and the climate is pleasant.

Bring your swim suit and sunscreen for time at the pool. The hotel provides towels. Check out www.lasvegasnow.com for activities One of the best is Circus Circus Adventure Dome Amusement park (indoors). The weather will be hot until end of Sept so you want comfortable walking shoes, shorts, light tops.

A book and a camera there is circus circus there for kids that you will enjoy and I think a water park but not a whole lot for kids... I believe the two dudes that had the tiger show are finished after the last attack, you know Sigman and Roy I think that's what their names were. Oh yeah unless you plan to stay in the air conditioning take some cool clothing. But other than that have fun and enjoy yourself ... I don't know if the built any amusement parks its something you could look into though.

i would say bring a friend if your allowed to because it makes things alot more fun.
when i go i usually sit by the pool all day, shopping (so bring money and comfy shoes =] ) uhmm other things to do at night since were not allowed to gamble would be the movie theater by the MGM hotel, gameworks which is also by the MGM hotel, the big arcade at the New york new york hotel (they also have a rollercoaster there), ummm theres a big dome at circus circus with games and stuff in there and then theres also an aracde at the excalibur hotel.

Doesn't sound like a place for a13-year old. But if you are going I hope it is with your parents and they have arranged activities for you to enjoy with people your own age.

comfortable shoes!!! You will probably do a lot of walking...the strip looks like it small, but it's actually about 4 miles long.
Swim suit is a must!!! And sunscreen (chapstick too!)

wrldwyde420
at 13 you should definitely have a camera, if you need sun screen make sure you have that and tanning lotion.....youll need comfortable shoes, or sandals for all the walking and sight seeing.....they have amusement centers in most of the casino's like excalbiur and NY NY, Circus Circus, for people your own age.

save big by shopping fruther down the south end of the strip where you can better deals at way better prices.

Make sure to get a copy of whats on, They will have plenty of coupons for a teen ager to enjoy....like two for one games, or similar.........

bring nice clothes to, if you and family or friends go some place nice, be prepared, dont waste vacation money on high clothes you already own.

Bring a smile, sense of adventure, ask your clan if you can go to Red Rock canyon, you will never forget it.

You figure the weather is going to be nice and you're going to go swimming - I'm sure. Perhaps you'll even get to check out a few shows. So in order to be prepared for every occasion, my advise is pack three or four bathing suits (and a couple cute cover ups - flip flops and sun screen of course) since I'm sure you will spend plenty of time by the pool. Also, pack a pair of either denim or khaki shorts that you can wear more than once with different tops if you and your folks decide to head out for the day for some family activities. Then I'd make sure I had two or three cute tops to go with your shorts and two or three dresses to wear at night in case you guys go to a nice restaurant or fancy theater. The best advice when you're trying to figure out what to pack when going to a place where you've never been is pack things that will allow you to mix-and-match. In other words, for example, bring a pair of capris that you can wear with either a cute t-shirt and flip flops or a pretty shirt and sharp pair of dress shoes. Also, try and stay within the same color scheme and that will make your life a lot easier also. This will also save you from having to pack multiple pairs of shoes in a variety of colors. I often make the mistake of packing one brown something or other and find that I have nothing to go with it and then I'm all upset because I really wanted to wear that. You'll be fine and you and your family are going to have a great time. Just remember to pack light since the airlines only allow you to check one piece of luggage and carry a smaller piece onto the plane. Otherwise, you get stuck paying an extra fee for any additional pieces of luggage. Also, they're really strict about what you pack in your carry-on bag so make sure that all your nail polish, soaps, lip gloss, deodorant, and any other toiletries are packed in your checked luggage to avoid any hassle at baggage check. You may want to bring your iPod and your dock station (if you have one) so that you guys can listen to music in the room while you're getting ready and stuff and you can bring it to listen to at the pool if you're into laying out and checking out magazines or reading books and stuff. Also it's great to have on the airplane. Good luck!! Have a great time!!!!

Common Sense!

There is Red Rock Canyon about 15 miles west of the Strip. There are 20 Hiking Trails and it only costs $5.oo per car!

Death Valley is only about 1.5 hours away west also! 128 Degrees in the Shade [ Ops... No Shade!]

Twin Sisters Monument is North about an hour. and you can exit there to follow Lake Meed past...."Rogers Springs".... on your way to.... The DAM!

As far a Down Town Vegas.... save YOUR Money! Last Year a teen.... pulled the Handle and LOST OUT ON....5-MILLION DOLLARS.... as he was UNDERAGE to gamble! His parents got a Lawyer.... but it did NO GOOD!

Thanks, RR

Your Parents and their money; sunblock for the pool and everywhere else as it might be 120 degrees F; comfortable walking shoes to check out all the cool hotels, shops and roller coasters; 1 or 2 nice outfits to go to a nice early show; most importantly a good attitude and something to read while you sit in the hotel at night when your parents are downstairs having fun gambling and drinking. They deserve a little free time.

Aside from your bathing suit and some sunscreen, take a couple pair of shorts and some shirts. Jeans aren't really needed unless you wanna go out at night and it's a little colder than it was in the day time. You should also take some skirts if you have some. You don't need to wear anything too fancy, you should have fun no matter what you have on. Bring a book or some music to listen to when you're tanning or just hanging out where you'll be staying.

an adult! someone you can trust, psychos out there be very careful. there's high security out there for a reason.
other than that, plan your day out first and how much to plan to spend and stick with that, keep your money close to you and dont waive it around, make sure you're with someone you trust. There's alot of fun to be had out there, but just be aware of your surroundings, specially at your age.

rafeny
Well if you are traveling with you family....
something that is ever so useful in this brilliant city of lights-

camera!

for every step you take on the strip you can take 100000 pics its just amazing sights especially at night!

also take lots and lots of $$$ there's lots to spend it on without being allowed to gamble!

NLzonie
Sunscreen and something to do. Teens are not allowed in the casinos. Other than poolside stuff , or shopping, it's (way too hot for amusement park fun and not much else to do there.
