I like NC the best. Here is why. I have been to 40 of the 50 states and I lhave lived in several of them. But for some reason I like NC the best. It is absolutely beautiful country.

The geographic location - sits central on the east coast. It has the mountains and coast. I can be in DC on Capitol Hill in 5 hrs or ATL in 6 hrs driving. In Raleigh, I can be at the beach in 1.5 - 2 hrs or mountains in 2-3 hrs. It is an awesome life style.

Cost of living - cheaper than other metro areas in the US, but will change and go up since it is growing at an incredible rate.

Employment - pertains to Raleigh (RTP), Charlotte, and Wilmington. RTP = largest R&D park in the country. Lot of employers. Charlotte = banking capital.

Weather - All 4 seasons and all of them are generally mild.

Education - Several great colleges and universities close together. College basketball is huge down tobacco road. ACC is the best conference in the country for NCAA basketball... Plus all of the universities drive a lot of underground interests and art. Did you know that 80% of people living in the triangle are college educated and one of the highest concentration of PHDs in the country? The area was voted by Money magazine as one of the best places to live in the US and Number one to start a business.

Entertainment - Carolina Hurricanes are the 2006 Stanley Cup winners, and the Carolina Panthers are looking like they are going to the Super bowl, or at least the playoffs again. NCAA basketball = UNC Tarheels, Duke Bluedevils, NC State Wolfpack, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Falls and Jordan Lakes in Raleigh, Norman near Charlotte. Downtowns offer great restaurants and bars. They still have a ways to go on this aspect of entertainment, but they are addressing it too.

Economy - It is growing at an incredible rate. 29 states showed a slump in housing, RDU is up 14%.

Raleigh is growing and people from all over are discovering it and falling in love with it. The night life may not be that of NYC, or any other huge metro area, but it has a lot going for it. You can not buy mountain or coastal property for $300k in NYC or CA either... Over all life style is wonderful in NC. It is the next hot spot for development on the East Coast. What am I talking about, it has already been going on. I could go on and on....

Arizona. may not have an ocean or anything like that but you cant die from hurricanes, tornados, volcanoes or anything like that just astroids, and heat waves. You can move to the hot side or the cold side of Arizona there both beautiful

what's your lifestyle?...
what do you enjoy to do?....

one of the main things that defines the western hemisphere is the lack of human history... europe has it's old cities, battles, castles, and country side shaped by man for thousands and thousands of years...

here in the US we are surrounded by the natural wonders of the environment.. mountains, hills, lakes canyons, caves, etc... many, like myself, find meaning in life thru these things..

so, i must ask, what is you lifestyle?
what do you do outside of work?...
are you a city person who like to think of the outdoors?
are you a country person who likes to think of the cities?...

If you would like to enjoy all four seasons, I would go with West Virginia. It is a wonderful and beautiful place! Hope this helps with your decision.

The State of Constant Euphoria is a good one.

Stay away from the State of Amnesia, although you'll probably forget about it soon.

The State of Delirium is full of wild and crazy dangers.

And the State of Unconsiousness just lays there.

I'd say stay away from Illinois and Texas. Hawaii and New York are the most pricey. Wisconsin is where i live, not to expensive, well kept roads, plenty of lakes and rivers, a crappy foot-ball team, not to bad of a place. Can get a little cold though.

It depends on what you consider a "good" place to live. If you love scenery, go to West Virginia. If you love the beaches, go to Florida, Hawaii or California. If you like excitement go to Las Vegas or New York City. You should emphasize what you like so that people can answer your question better.

North Carolina. We have the Research Triangle where everything new that is happening is going on there in the world of science and medicine. We have Duke Hospital, UNC Hospital which are both Medical Centers and are on the cutting edge of medicines. Also very good medical centers in other areas.

We are the South! and being from the South, I love it. In this area we have a diverse group of people living and doing their own thing. On one end of the state we have the mountains and on the other end of the state we have the ocean.

Come on down, we'd love to have you.
