So you know about the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market (not Pikes market or Pike Street Market), the view from the Ferry (not fairy unless you're on Capital Hill - inside joke), and Safeco field. If you are looking for a great place to see and get a photo op - try these:
Kerry Park on Highland Drive – sculpture and downtown/space needle
Greenlake – rollerbladers, people watching, 3 mile trail around the lake
International District – dragon sculptures |

The most famous sight in Seattle is the Seahawk fans still crying about how they think they got screwed in the Superbowl.. |

The Space Needle was built for the 1960 World's Fair. There is a revolving restaurant at the top. Very expensive, and the food is just OK, but the view is tremendous. |

The most famous sight, as everyone has already said, is the Space Needle.
However, there are alot of other cool, unique things to check out in the Seattle area -
*The Market (of course)
*Take a ferry Ride or Whale-watching trip
*The Experience Music Project
*Seattle Center
*Gasworks Park (To fly a kite and get a spectacular view of the city.)
*Snoqualmie Falls (outside the city)
*Weird stuff- Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe (On the waterfront. Has real mummies in there, among other strange things.), The Fremont Troll, The statue of Lenin (in Fremont)
And before you leave, you have to have a hamburger from "***** Drive In". They are a Seattle institution and the best darn burger around. They're all over the city, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one... :) Enjoy your visit! |

I don't know where you got your information that the Space Needle is closed at 3pm. I have been up to the observation deck at night and there is a restaurant up there that serves dinner.
The Space Needle definitely ranks as one of the most famous sights in Seattle. Pike Place Market, particularly the fish market known for throwing fish, is another. Mount Rainier is a fixture on the Seattle horizon, at least on clear days, and is a good place to visit in the summer. There's loads to do in and around Seattle. |

Most famous is Space Needle.
My favourite however is Pike Place Market followed by the view from Safeco Field over Seattle at night. Spectacular. |

Mount Rainier....and I don't think it ever closes.....oh wait, it's run by the U.S. National Park service and they probably close at sunset. |
