St. Louis. What a crap hole. Lived there for 2 years. Didnt smoke crack or speak bosnian though. Or own a gun. How the arch gets more than 2 mil visitors a year beats me. |

New York, for sure. Tons of people and no where to park, sounds awesome right? |

New York.
Everyone always talks about it, but I hate it so much.
People are mean, and they're souls are sucked out of them.
Once you go to New York, (most people) turn into careless selfish greedy people.
The only thing I like about new york is looking up and seeing all the really tall buildings. That is so fun. And how there's lots of people. And how theirs lots of things to do and what not... |

As a foreign tourist who has spent 3 months travelling around America I would have to say LA. The city is dominated by cars, freeways, carparks, shopping malls, fast-food outlets etc. It is like a big grey, concreate jungle, criss-crossed by huge freeways and covered with a layer of smog. I can't understand why it is so popular with Americans, immigrants (legal and otherwise) and tourists when there are so many nicer places in the US to go to. |

I don't think there is anything nice about Baltimore. As for the one above me that mentioned Norfolk....I don't think of that as a major city at all. I will call it a dumpy one though, LOL! Personally, I don't like any of the Tidewater area. ICK!
I think I'd have to pick L.A. NYC is at least a unique environment and culture that isn't like most of the rest of the country. Los Angeles is just another car filled smog infested city. I don't find anything particularly appealing about it. |

Someone needs to tell the Bozo above that Louisiana is not a city. The most over rated city in America is Los Angeles |

Ok, if you are going to call Baltimore "major" then there are lots of places we could put on the list. But when you are talking really major, then I'd go with Chicago. Too cold, too institutional. |

I would really have to disagree with you on Baltimore.
I think it would be one of the better underrated cities in the U.S.
I would say San Fransisco isn't all it could be. I was there and all they have a big place that sells fish. Nothing special. |

Well that was helpful to narrow down and we all know that Louisiana is a state. That is a good question, looking things like offerings most large cities offer many things, a wide variety. But to me it is the little things that separate a good big city from a one of pomp. New York seems to respond to many things well. But LA on the other hand it rains just a little too much all news about mud slides, Dry everybody is upset about the fires. LA seems to not have much of an infrastructure. Water issues just one thing after another. Earth Quakes do not stop San Francisco, and Tokyo. LA is like a house of cards. I think Baltimore is too busy being a major Port city and to he[[ with its looks.
But LA wins by far in my book. Second is Norfolk Va.
Of course Colorado being a State was a good city choice..(Roll eyes) Duh! |

I'd agree with Baltimore, but to me its not rated highly enough to be overrated. I'd vote for Boston. |
