I love the Flatiron Building. Probably not an obvious choice, but i think it's one of the best to enjoy from an everyday streetwalking perspective. |

The Chrysler Building will always have my heart.
But the GE building at Lexington Avenue at 51st St!!!! OMG. You can stand and look at it forever and not take in all the amazing details. And some of the best stuff is 50 stories up at the top!
Check out some photos at the link below.
3rd place is the American Standard (nee Radiator) Building next to Bryant Park. It has a sick black brick with bright gold details that is supposed to look like coal & flames ("radiator")!!! The contrast is amazing. It looks like it should be in a Batman movie. It was painted by Georgia O'Keeffe in 1927 in her famous painting "The Radiator Building at Night."
I love this city! |

I have always been partial to the Flatiron Building.
Just wish there wasn't some awful chain store at the bottom of it right now! |

Chrysler, then Empire State. Empire State would have been first if it had a little more flash. |

Ever been to the "Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House" aka "The Old Customs House' its main current tenant is the The National Museum of the American Indian, at Bowling Green ?
Also worth considering is the Woolworth Building, 233 Broadway
Some folks may suggest Grand Central Terminal, but that would be WAYYYYYYYYY down on my list. |
