i live about 30 mins away from savannah and i can tell you that its an ok place but it is so crime ridden its insane. its like #9 most crimeridden city in the country no joke. i go there just for events at the civic center, to shop at their huge 2 malls and go to paula deans awesome resteraunt. other then that i stay away. especially at night. my bro got pistol whippd in mcdonalds parking lot and carjacked on the southside of savannah. |

I know that there are a lot of beautiful parks there and lots of shops to go to that are really cute, but a bit expensive. One nice thing is that it'll be warm all the time and you won't have to deal with snow as much! Savannah also has the great southern charm that you may have heard of and almost all of the people I met there were amazingly nice and very helpful! Good luck! |

Eat peaches on your veranda. (-: Just kidding. I'm sure you will find some of the same things for a 14 yr. old to do that you would find in Connecticut, it'll just take longer, since everyone talks slower with a drawl. You'll be fine. Good luck! |

First of all, Savannah is very close to some really nice beach communities. And the beach in GA is nothing like the rocky beaches on the Connecticut shore. Plus the weather! Spring begins the end of February and winter doesn't begin until December! Savannah is a very historic city and beautiful.
I was born in TN and moved to CT when I was 13. I lived there for 17 years, I now live in GA
Moving is an adventure and also a good time to reinvent yourself. Have fun! PS ... lots of people move to GA ... you won't be "the new one" for long. |

Get pregnant. That's what they do in the south at the ripe old age of 14.
You might want to gain weight too. If you aren't over 250 lbs, you are not a healthy southern girl. |

the savannah college of art and design has a lot of cool workshops if you're into art (they have all sorts of things- fashion, film, photography, sculpture, theater) my sister is thinking of going there. |

that sucks, i almost had to move from Massachusetts to North Carolina when i was like 10 or 11, lets just say i wasn't thrilled the town i was moving to was small and it seemed boring, luckily things worked out and i didn't have to move, but i am still curious what would have happened if i did move and how much different i would be.
you could always find a group of kids to hang out with i bet they know some fun things to do there |
