I like the subway, brown line and blue line. One spot on the brown line specifically going to downtown where it goes across the river and you can see down the river it's beautiful if you look at the right time like around noonish or sunset. I also like sitting on one the bridges down town when it's raining in the summer not very exciting but relaxing. That's only if you're into that sort of thing |

Restaurant: Tiffin on Devon Ave. Great Indian food
Landmark: Probably the John Hancock building. Has more "character" than the Sears Tower and has a great restaurant and bar at the top with the best view of gthe city.
Shop: Uncle Fun on Belmont. Silly stupid stuff, but the staff there "gets it".
Club: Don't go "clubbing" anymore, but I used to like the Smart Bar but haven't been there in YEARS.
Bar: Three way tie: Simon's in Andersonville, Gingerman in Wrigleyville and Weeds on North Ave. Used to be Old Town Ale house but the new owner is a putz.
Favorite "get away from it all" area: Park/lakefront/beach area near Bryn Mawr. One of the best kept secrets. Not overrun with sunbathers/volleyballers/frisbee tossers. Just the Eastern European families walking their babies or the elders sitting and talking, latino families barbecuing, a few joggers or bikeriders rolling by, a small beach, a basketball court. Not too crowded like Fullerton or North Ave. Beach... yet. |
