What's your favorite place(s) in Atlanta to chill out ???

By Chill I mean = read , people watch, have a coke, have a snack, relax, play your PSP, play your walkman, stuff like that.

Any place in the City Limits that is SAFE. Indoors or Outdoors.
name 1 or many. a link would be nice too.

I agree with atlantaboi3 Piedmont Park is the best.
http://www.piedmontpark.org/
tons of events all year long.

right next to the park is the Atlanta Botanical Gardens
http://www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org/home.do
there is an admission fee but it is a very relaxing place and they have some really great events throughout the year.

Another park is centennial park downtown
http://www.centennialpark.com/
directly across the street from the Georgia Aquarium
great place to hang out during the weekdays especially with good weather we go eat lunch there all the time

My favorite is Piedmont Park. I love to take my dogs out there. Watch all the other people. I get to meet a lot of new people out there. You can pretty much enjoy anything you like in Piedmont Park. It is beautiful and has great views as well.

Java Monkey in Decatur. It's 1 block from Decatur MARTA and has an interesting crowd (all races / ages, though most people I see are in their 20s/30s). Sometimes they have live music. They serve more than just coffee; they have some desserts, etc., and in the evenings they also have a bar with wine/liquor.

Downtown Decatur is super-safe and very interesting for laid-back people watching.

The Brick Store Pub is even better than Java Monkey, though it's oriented more toward beer and food.

Atlantic station - you can people watch from benches, eat, snack(ice cream), shop, play (bowling alley and movie theatre). you can park in the deck free for two hours.

Piedmont park - great to people watch, chill, daydream, have a picnic, walk, run, sit by the lake, etc...

Lenox - you will definitely see some interesting (read:strange) people here, shop, eat, walk

Airports good to if you don't mind paying to park. lots of area (shopping, dining) before entering the concourse (ie needing a ticket)

Dude, I hate Atlanta, I just moved from Georgia after being a native all my life. You never really know how bad it is until you move away. There is life else where.
