They have the Poconos. And surfing, on Lake Erie. And bald eagle watching. And kyaking. Hmmm... and beautiful fall colors. I could possibly be forgetting a few things there, too. |

I'm always thinking that New Jersey is that state that nobody wants to be affiliated with. For instance, the Tweeter Center on the camden waterfront everyone always refers to as being in Philly. The Giant's Stadium is located in East Rutherford, NJ, but why are they called the New York Giants? The statue of libery is technically on Liberty Island, NJ but New York gets the credit? I'm sure there are good reasons for all, but it seems like nobody wants NJ, haha. For one, camden is the biggest crap hole and has one of the highest crime rates in USA. |

New Jersey has among the highest property taxes in the nation, high auto insurance, no major cities that you want to be in after dark. NJ is known for the intense mob ties and corruption. NJ has one major station that you can hear throughout the state 101.5.
NJ does have the beach and a huge amount of people from PA make the pilgrimage to NJ each year to enjoy the shore.
Also, people from PA come to NJ because it has no sales tax on clothes. NJ has cheaper gas always and you never have to pump your own gas.
Penn's two major cities (Philly and Pittsburgh) have their own sport's teams, tv stations, diverse radio stations, great stores---but, with big cities comes crime.
Although, Camden NJ has among the worst poverty and crime in the nation. |

lower property taxes, better quality of life, and so long as you aren't in Philly the housing costs are also a lot less.
I just moved from NJ to Central PA. |

I think both of them have their pros and cons. PA has philly of course which is a lot funner than almost all of New Jersey, and New Jersey is boring. However, NJ has the shore!!! Everyone from PA goes to OUR shore in the summer. NJ is quieter if you like that. But the parts of PA that aren't the city are probably even more boring than NJ. It's hard to decide, but I'd probably rather live in Philly than in the suburbs. |
