Surprisingly, those are all in some nicer areas. I guess those folks don't shop at Mervyn's.

They filed for bankruptcy, so I believe they are all closing. I live in Michigan and they have all closed. |

As of 17, October, All 149 Mervyn's Department Store locations will be closing. The one in my local mall supposedly told all of it's employees that they expect Christmas week to be their last week open for business, and that New Year's Eve will be the last day of work for the employees. |

All Mervyns are closing. They filed for bankruptcy last year, but haven't been able to find a solution to their problems. No date of sale information has been released.
Linen & Things has also filed bankrutpsy are also closing all their stores. They are presently in "close out sale" mode. If you are looking for bargains on those kinds of things now is the time to shop. Understand it's cash only, and no returns |

The chain is going out of business all together, so eventually all the stores will be closed. Right now they are selling off inventory, in another month or so they will start consolidating stores, moving inventory and people all to one store until they can liquidate everything. |
