doesnt matter.. places in the U.S that are warm in the winter are burning hot in the summer.. with a much higher A.C. use than anyone else. |

air conditioning is more expensive than heating.
this isn't a very good strategy to cut your bills.
southern california has pretty mild weather, but the cost of living (rent, food, etc) is much greater. |

Hawaii, but what about the A/C bill? |

Whoever says California has obviously never been here. I'm an hour south of San Fransisco and live 60 seconds from the beach. Today it was raining and 45-50 degrees.
Anyway, it doesn't work the way you think it would. My boss lived in Hawaii for 3 years. The first winter she was there, she would go to the store and everyone was buying blankets and she was like, "Why is everyone buying blankets, it's like 65 degrees outside?" But sure enough, she was buying blankets next year too. You adjust to the conditions, so when it drops below what is normal it feels colder. |

The warmer states you'll wind up with air conditioning bills instead.
I live in California - Los Angeles, to be exact. My heater has been cranking for days now. And in the summer, I have to turn on the AC. Sure, we tend to have one constant type of weather but a few weeks ago we had a heat wave that required my AC and today, rain and cold so I've got my heater on. |

The southern states are the warmest overall, but it still gets cold enough in the winter that you will have somewhat of a heating bill, though not at long or as severe as other places. |

I live in Southern CA, and last August my electricity bill was $375 for the air conditioning. Be careful what you wish for. |

NO - Arizona has very cold winters. a desert climate typically has dry hot summers, but cold nights and winters.
unless it is on the equator.
I had friends in Cupertino , California who never turned the heat on. that is just a bit north of San Jose, 40 or 50 miles south of San Francisco.
I have friends in Florida, near the coast that never turn on their heaters now.
you want to look at Southern states/ areas, but also areas near the coast. Being near a large bay or Ocean stabilizes the temp a bit. ( but not the Great Lakes, too far north.) |

South Florida, West Palm Beach. I guess Arizona too, but Palm Beach is fantastic. Lots of water, boating, activites meeting people. Hot in the summer, in the high 90's in the winter , in the 70's-80's.
A week maybe in the winter of 60's a day maybe of 50's., but you can get a pellet fireplace for those days. Global Warming I guess.
Look at the Weather Station on TV that is dedicated to only weather.
Monitor the weather over several months, you will be able to see the averages and the changes on a daily basis. |

Texas and New Mexico. I've lived in FL for almost 4 years now and have not turned on our heat once. There are some days I would like too, but I just remember what it would be like to be back in MN and then it is not so cold anymore. |

Miami, It is a great place! There is always something to do, with South Beach and the Beach in general. The coldest day of the year was yesterday, it was 38 but only for a couple hours, and now we are back to 60's to 70's for the next week. You should think about the AC bill, in the summer it gets pretty hot. |

Southern California is definitely warm all year round, but it depends on where you live...some parts are hot, in some parts it can snow.
(It gets cold sometimes where I live, but i just wear a sweater indoors - no need for a heater.) |
