Well cities like LA, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston, DC, Las Vegas, the Keys, and San Antonio are all great cities to visit. Things like Disney World and National Parks are great too. I think everyone needs to visit these places at least once.
I have never really had the desire to return to those places once I had been there. I guess it depends on what you are in to, but Miami Beach is probably the only place I enjoy returning to. No where else in the country can you stay at a nice hotel on the beach and enjoy the sun during the day, and then go out the front door to awesome shops, restaurants and clubs in the evening. The Art Decco architecture also adds a unique and historic quality to Miami Beach. Relaxation, fun and luxury are combined better here than anywhere else I have ever been.
In terms of northern cities with things to do, I love Cleveland. I'm from Cleveland, so I'm a little biased, but there is so much to do and for not much money.
The high culture opportunities are practically endless. With the highest rated orchestra in the country, the second largest theater district in the country, a prestigious and vast art collection, and virtually every type of museum imaginable is quite suprising. And everyone should visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Restaurants and food is very good too. There are very trendy and upscale ones downtown and in the suburbs. There are very nice, ethnic, and artsy type places in neighborhoods around downtown like Little Italy, Slavic Village, Chinatown, and a combination of old and new world places in Ohio City and Tremont. Little Italy and Tremont are also wonderful places for art galleries. Ohio City is anchored by the last municpally owned market in the country, and is very cool. West Side Market is spectacular.
Nigtlife in certain spots is comparable to places I have been in New York, Miami, and LA. There are also a lot of pleasent dive bars that are quite fun and filled with characters (like the ones you see on the Drew Carey Show).
Lots of nice architecture and historic sights. Very convenient to get around in Cleveland. But this is the big draw to Cleveland in my opinion: you can do so much there and not spend a lot of money. Hotel rates, museum admissions, sporting events, parking, cover charges, food and drink are SO REASONABLE. Where else can you stay at a Ritz-Carlton for as low as $199 a night? The second major draw to Cleveland is that the city has much to offer visitors, but is very non-touristy. You don't see a lot of chain restaurants in the city or vendors selling knock-off merchandise. It is nice to be in a cool place that is unscathed by swarming tourists. Yeah, some parts of the city might be shady, but crime is not really issue more than other cities. Unless you are engaging shady activity yourself, you certainly have nothing to fear. |

It depends on your interests, age and budget, but Disney World should be at the top no matter what. In addition, seeing New York and Washington, D.C. are also worth the effort. |

I just got back from Tahoe. I feel that it's one of those rare places where both kids and adults can have fun, and not deal with rude people. |

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are into the outdoors, you cannot miss the splender and wonder of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
If you are looking for an city that is a bit on the different side, don't miss San Francisco.
Finally, if you like extreme sports, Hawaii or Southern California are great places. |

Ive been on vacation for almost 2 weeks now touring the US so im the guy to hit up I suppose, if your jsut looking for a normal vacation check out Florida, theyve got teh typical hot weather and cool stuff.
I highly reccomend the south west.
New Mexico/Texas area, Carlsbad caves are wonderful and so amazing they are hard to believe and must be seen in persons. White sands is also very cool. I took pics of both these on my current vacation, check out my myspace
While you are around here you can head up north and check out the Grand Canyon, right by that is Las Vegas. If you head a good ways East you hit Yellowstone which ive heard is one of the, if not the most amazing place in the US. Of course Disneyland is always cool if your not into the larger then life unreal things.

The Grand Canyon. Those who have never been are missing out. Make sure that you do not just look at it from the top looking down. The best view is from the bottom looking up. |
