What are the drinking/gambling laws in Las Vegas for people who are under 21 but married to a legal adult? |
My fiance and I are getting married and Vegas; I will be 19 and he will be 24. We wanted to know what the rules were for me gambling and drinking once we are married. |

It doesn't matter who you're married to, the drinking and gambling ages don't change. You still have to be 21 to do either. |

You can't gamble. You can't stand near the slot machines or the tables at all, actually. You have to stay somewhere far away...when I go I have to sit at the food court because I can't be near the machines. The guards at casinos don't take chances, if they see you're not 21 they'll put you in handcuffs and lead you to the parking lot, it happened to my friend...so sorry, I know that wasn't the answer you wanted :( |

21 is 21 here. You could be married to the king of a country but if you are under 21 ... no gamble .. no drink. If he buys you drinks and you get caught ... he can go to jail. Married or single the rules apply across the board. |

No gambling or drinking for you before or after you are married . This is a 21 town! |

LOL.
If you aren't 21, you don't drink or gamble, regardless of how old your spouse is! |

The good thing is, when you get arrested, they can release you into your husbands custody when he comes to pick you up. Not a bad deal. |

You will not be able to drink or gamble until you are 21...even if you are married to a legal adult. I'm sorry but that's the way it is. |

It doesn't matter who you are married to, you cannot drink or gamble until you are 21 - in Vegas, or anywhere else in the US!
You won't be allowed on the casino floor even - you can walk through it, but can't stand around and watch him play anything. |

hi!
I got married in vegas at 19 and my hubby was 21 whilst over there- 2 days after our wedding.
We both played slot machines and nobody said anything...and we got a bottle of champage ordered to our room on our wedding night and were not asked for proof of age- we were both under 21 at the time and had no fake id.
Then on my husbands birthday he just took his passport with him and we never went to a club but he would go to bars and buy 2 drinks and nothing was said...so nobody gambled except slot machine whilst underage, but we did both drink, underage without id and then he purchased drinks for me whilst he was 'of age' and i was not. but i kept a low profile! |

you can't gamble till you are 21...however if you read the Nev laws...link here
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRs/NRS-202.html#NRS202Sec020
read section 202.020
section 5 b which means you can drink the presence of your spouse, and he would have to buy it and hand it to you and you would have to stay in his presence
here it is from the site
NRS 202.020 Purchase, consumption or possession of alcoholic beverage by minor.
1. Any person under 21 years of age who purchases any alcoholic beverage or any such person who consumes any alcoholic beverage in any saloon, resort or premises where spirituous, malt or fermented liquors or wines are sold is guilty of a misdemeanor.
2. Any person under 21 years of age who, for any reason, possesses any alcoholic beverage in public is guilty of a misdemeanor.
3. This section does not preclude a local governmental entity from enacting by ordinance an additional or broader restriction.
4. For the purposes of this section, possession “in public” includes possession:
(a) On any street or highway;
(b) In any place open to the public; and
(c) In any private business establishment which is in effect open to the public.
5. The term does not include:
(a) Possession for an established religious purpose;
(b) Possession in the presence of the person’s parent, spouse or legal guardian who is 21 years of age or older;
(c) Possession in accordance with a prescription issued by a person statutorily authorized to issue prescriptions;
(d) Possession in private clubs or private establishments; or
(e) The selling, handling, serving or transporting of alcoholic beverages by a person in the course of his lawful employment by a licensed manufacturer, wholesaler or retailer of alcoholic beverages.
