You know, California is so large, thus I don't know if you wanna travel all or just LA. Kango have develped some list that I think it can help you make your decision.
*Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco: The Golden Gate is an art deco suspension bridge that stretches across San Francisco Bay is one of the most enduring symbols of the city by the Bay.
*Disneyland Park in Anaheim
*Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco
*SeaWorld Adventure Park ,San Diego
*The Getty Center, Los Angeles
*San Diego Zoo, San Diego
*Alcatraz Island, San Francisco
*Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey
*Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk ,Santa Cruz
*La Jolla Cove, La Jolla
You can visit: http://www.kango.com/ for more information.
Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hearst Castle, Napa Valley Wine Train, Santa Cruz Boardwalk, California Theme Park is also your choice.
Have a great time!

I grew up in Anaheim, where Disneyland is. If you have never been to a D'land resort, that would be a good place.
Universal Studios Hollywood (in Studio City, really).
The Chinese Theater IN Hollywood, and you can stroll down the "Walk of Fame" at the same time, and book a trip in a van to see the star's homes. That is fun. You will probably see more stars at Pink's hot dog stand, less than 2 miles from the Chinese Theater.
If you are in to nature, then in Central CA, visit Yosemite Valley or the Sequoia National Park (the largest living thing in the world is there...a tree called "General Sherman", I think), or up north, visit the mighty Redwoods. Near Monterey is Big Sur...more nature for ya.
Northern CA and Southern CA are two totally different areas with totally different peoples and cultures.
San Francisco is a beautiful city in which a visit would not be complete without a trip down the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lake Tahoe, at the "elbow" of Nevada/CA border, is beautiful.
Being like the 3rd biggest state there is almost too much to take in a lifetime, let alone a vacation. |

Wow. How long are you coming for? Here's my top ten, that turned into 11.
1. In the far north, the Redwoods.
2. In the north, Napa/Sonoma and the wineries, plus the beautiful Sonoma/Mendocino coastline.
3. San Francisco - lots to see here (and eat!)
4. Lake Tahoe
5. Yosemite
6. The drive from SF down highway 1 all the way to LA - on the way, check out Monterey, Big Sur, the Central Coast, San Simeon (Hearst Castle), end at Malibu and Santa Monica where you should check out the pier.
7. Hollywood (just for kicks) and Beverly Hills
8. Disneyland
9. Orange County - Beaches and Shopping
10. San Diego - SeaWorld, Mission Bay, the Enterprise, etc.
11. Palm Springs area and/or Death Valley
Sorry, there is just a LOT to see, all very different. I suspect you may have to pick 1-2 areas and concentrate..... either do north or south, or coast or mountains/desert. |
