Nutria: A beaver-like, fur-covered rodent that's eating the marshes and levees of Louisiana's swamps. Many have migrated into the city through the canals and bayous. They look like giant rats with long, orange teeth. You should avoid them, but some locals cook them.

If you walk through the quarter and you see the people sitting on the side walk talking sh*t to you as your walking by and they happen to have 1.) a dog 2.) 50 peircings 3.)50 tatoos 4.) strange colored hair 5.) strange hair cut 6.) ask you for either money or cigs 7.) some type of chain being worn (by the dog or on the person) 8.) about 5 other of those freaks sitting all together..... they are called "gutter punks". These people have to have all of these qualities to apply. If they don't then they are just regular New Orleans locals.
