It not looking like people actually live there...that would be a huge "GO SOMEWHERE ELSE NOW" for me. |

I NEVER lay my head on the pillow, they are hardly ever washed. Same with the comforters, I take off bed and just use the sheets. The rug too, I check for stains...never walk on without slippers. And weird stains on wall, kinky and gross! |

There must be freshly washed clean sheets and blankets. |

Cleanliness!!! I have had some really bad experiences with this. Check under the furniture. Housekeeping sometimes ignores this section of the room since guests don't see it. To me that is the true test of cleanliness. |

Security, good lighting, secure locks. Clean rooms especially the bedding. I always take handi wipes to wipe down everything just for my own peace of mind. |

I ALWAYS check the sheets, and a time or two I've found stains and had to go and request a refund and left. I never ever ever touch the spread on top of the bed. I always bring my own blanket and throw theres off of the bed, here's why: I've always noticed that no matter how nice the Hotel , they change the sheets but never the spread, and I can just imagine how nasty the spread is. |

Hair and bugs in the bed and the bathrooms. So gross. we rented a room one night after driving for almost 20 hours and flipped the blankets back just in time to see the bug go running away. AAAHH

Damage of any type to the room...report it immediately. I stayed at one room where the carpet was burned by a clothes iron and they tried to blame me for it. As soon as I check in, if I see any damage, I call for a manager to come inspect it and get his or her name as well as the date/time inspected.
Personally, I also like a room with a coffee pot and microwave, as well as any place that serves breakfast. I also like two double beds instead of one king, as you get more pillows that way!!! LOL! |

modern/up to date motif..........then i go straight to the bathrooms and inspect.
as far as booking a hotel, i look for warm-i am in the midwest-sun, sand and pool w/a bar to totally get away from life if only for a week at time. |

Clean, comfortable, eye appealing, cost, quiet, ac/heat depending on climate, close to restaurants and entertainment, safe neighborhoods surrounding the hotel/motel. Hot tub, pool and rec room to work out in. |

What kind of people are staying there. How much in and out traffic do you see? Are there families staying there? Is there a place to eat close by (gotta have hot java in the am) You can check the rating out. I won't stay at one or two star lodging....but I won't stay at a five star either, because I'm money conscious. |

The quality of the hotel and price. I dont want to spend big bucks for a basic hotel. Location and whether or not I would need to rent a car would factor in. |

Always Always, a coffee pot, hair dryer and iron.
Preferred, a microwave & little fridge.
Plenty of towels and an extra pillow or blanket around.
A working TV, without fuzz, and with plenty of channels. |

I know when I am booking into a hotel, or motel I look at the rating to see if it is a good place to stay. I do reserach on the place, so that I can feel good about the right descsion. |

First i make sure no one is there, second i bring a black light with me. ( you know how people get giggy with it in the bed) so i just flip the mattress and use my own sheets. Third, I make sure the air, amenities work. Make sure there arent any cracks in the windows. And i always have everything that i will need in one place, Incase you gotta get out of there fast. Hope this helps. (and you WILL be surprised with the black light) |

I'm concerned mainly about cleansiness, I hate hotel rooms that are dirty and seem to not have been cleaned properly. Also, the usual things like television, alarm clock, air conditiong. If all those things are there I'm set. |

If u have kids and/or spouse, u will want a decent sized room per number of ppl.
These r for u or a group.
1.CLEAN & COMFY
2. Bathrooms attached, or very close.
3. Benefits like pool, cable w/free movies, and a phone.
4. Last, but not least: price, find 1 to accomadate your budget. |

When I go to a Hotel/Motel I immediately look at the
Parking - Is my car safe?
Bed - As long as I have a nice place to sleep to get me through the night
Bathroom - Is it clean and not grungy?
Overall I just need a clean room with a comfy bed and a clean bathroom, and its location and do I feel safe?
Mostly you just know your gut tells you.
Oh and also the price.
It doesn't have to be fancy just comfortable@ |

Safe, clean and near a decent restaurant. I also want the hotel to be reasonably priced. I'm not looking to move there. |
