I am sooo sorry about the idiot named Slippery Pete.. OMG he is horrible... Anyway, my family and I started playing Dominos, we play mexican train.. it is a domino game that you can buy on amazon, and we also play card games, poker , tripoly, golf (yes golf is a card game) try some of those..

This issue can be a challenge for some families with teen kids. I have two grown kids that were teenagers at the same time. I always had one disignated night once a week that was family night. No other plans were made so this was a standing event. I would make a special dinner with dessert then we would have a family game night. This may sound lame to some people but my kids grew to really look forward to this and to this day still talk about it. One of our favorite games to play was a card game called 'Phase Ten' - a pretty basic game but it was so much fun (available at stores like Walmart). Sometimes they would ask to invite a friend and that was always ok. Sometimes the best times are doing things that don't cost alot of money. They are both in college now and when they come home and we all all together, out comes the card game. So this worked for us. Good luck.

You can always trying to go to sports games as a family. I love going to OSU and OU games and Tulsa Oilers hockey games with my family. I always ask if I can bring a friend and we normally can. Hope this helps!

I have the same exact problem with my family. I try and take them on movie nights when I'm back from college= which makes my mom happy- but rarely my sister or dad. I tried playing UNO with them...which worked for a while- until Dad beat the crap out of us and no one wanted to lose anymore~
I found one on one time with each of my family members stops the bitchinig about being "seperated" or "disconnected." Mom likes movies, dad likes bike rides, and my sister likes anything including music. I live near DC so all the museums were fun...

the problem is that teenagers at your age would rather be out with their boyfriends/girlfriends/friends than do lame stuff with their parents and brother. Its a fact of life, and probably all families go through this phase.

Forget going to a waterpark. Try picking up a game of UNO or something. Or something else that's crazy and fun like yatzee.

Yeah, it sounds stupid as hell...but you will find that for a little while you guys will be having fun.

Family outings at your age, realistically aren't going to happen. So rather than feel like you are stuck going to some lame thing that lasts all day with your parents and brother you can't stand...If the family spends like an hour together...at least you are spending time together. Jewish families for example ALWAYS have a friday night dinner together. To miss it is unacceptable.

You will see that quit e a few people picked BOARD games....Make sure not to pick scrabble...it not a fun and relaxing game...its very competitive and leads to arguments.

Seventeen and Nineteen. The fact that you want to be with your family speaks loads about you!! Here are a few suggestions, good luck!
1. Pick a shelter/soup kitchen/hospital and donate your time as a family for a few hours.

2. Get involved in the government aspect of your community. You could go to a few meetings and perhaps suggest some changes.

3. Adopt a tree and take care of it together.

4. Find an elderly person in your neighborhood who needs some handyman work done. Help them out by painting, planting flowers, etc.

5. Adopt a puppy!!

6. Learn how to skydive as a family, way cool!!

7. Paintball or a shooting range.

8. Cook a meal together once a week, including dessert. Each member has to help out from start to finish.

9. Ask each other to talk about their favorite memories.

10. Rent a kayak and explore your local waterways. Very fun!

I know my family we would take a hike in the forest or go for bike rides. maybe check out the local market on weekends or .....go bowling? anything can be fun it just depends on the type of attitude you take towards it

Try netflix its great. You can get all types of genres suitable for partents and you teens. Watch the movies together with some homemade snacks. That'll help out. Set a day to get together also, so you hold true to your plans, like every sunday!

How about sacrificing your thoughts and feelings once in a while, put your wants aside.. and please your mom.. Think about the magnitude of your mother, Her total sacrifice in giving you life.. And she wants too do some goofy things with you.. so what? My mom and I are now best friends (once I grew up a little) and we live far away from each other and I long for the times we can spend together, Boogie boarding (she is 72) dinners, roller skating, playing board games, watching a movie and just laughing our butts off together.
Sometimes we can be greatful by keeping our opinions to ourselves and sacrificing a few hours here and there to do what mom and dad wants..
Just my thoughts..
