Some good free things are the Fountains at the Bellagio, the Freemont Street Experience, the Lion Habitat at the MGM, the circus acts at Circus Circus, the Masquerade in the Sky at the Rio, the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace or the Grand Canal shops at the Venetian.
For a small fee, you can actually be in the Masquerade show at the Rio, and while you're at the Grand Canal shops, you can take a gondola ride.
If you're willing to spend reasonable amount of money, almost all the strip hotels have great shows and exhibits. The Shark reef at Mandalay Bay, and the Auto Collection at the Imperial Palace come to mind.
There are many places right outside of town, such as Lake Mead, Valley of fire, and Red Rock Canyon to visit.
Take a look at http://www.Vegas.com/, http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/, or http://lvol.com/ for literally hundreds of activities that don't involve gambling.
According to an article I read last week, the Elvis museum has been closed. I haven't confirmed that, though. |

You can do a bunch of stuff there. Just because you're in Vegas doesn't mean you have to gamble. It's just a part of fun of it. You can ride the roller coasters at the Sahara, Circus Circus, New York New York Hotel and go on the thrill rides up the Stratosphere Hotel. There are also a bunch of free attractions like Bellagio Fountains and Botanical Garden, Flamingos at Flamingo, Lion Habitat in MGM, The Volcano at the Mirage, Sirens of Treasure Island and go shopping at Caesar's Palace and Fashion Show Mall. |

We're going to Vegas in August, and on our to do list are all the free shows on the strip (such as the Bellagio fountains, the Sirens of TI, the volcano at the Mirage and the MGM lion enclosure), sight seeing, some of the big shows, such as Cher, and a few Cirque shows, and the Star Trek experience at the Hilton. Have a look at http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/index.jsp for more info! |

Been three times, never been bored! Loved hiring car and exploring, and yes, Red Rock Canyon a must as is Fremont Street, brilliant at night, fantastic party atmosphere. So much to do and see on the strip, I would be typing for ever. Grand Canyon so close it just has to be done (it will take your breath away - AWSOME) Also, if you love your food, you will love Vegas. VIVA LAS VEGAS |

visit other hotels just for a look around! Recommend Rio at night ,has an amazing show. Also go to Fremont Street for the fantastic light show at night. The waxworks at The Venetian is good fun. Take a half day trip to Red Rock canyon- an amazing sight! Also "Elvis-a-rama" museum is fascinating even if not an Elvis fan. |
