Austin! Great state university (UT), vibrant community and culture, nightlife, clean environment, scenery. Many employers, businesses, shopping, etc. Nowhere near as expensive as major cities in CA, NY, or the coasts, to top it all off.

Grand Junction Colorado. Mesa State is the local college. We have a population of about 150,000 people and growing. It's located on the Western Slope of Colorado and he have the Colorado National Monument with great hiking trails. It does snow here, but this past winter we received about 14" of snow all winter. During the summer it does get into the triple digits for about 2 weeks. Right know it's in the high 70's during the day and drops down into the middle 40's at night. Not allot of traffic to have to deal with. If you enjoy the outdoors, this is the place. On top of the Grand Mesa you can find over 200 different lakes.

Kansas City has some great colleges and universities, and most have some decent parks nearby. We get some snow here, but typically it doesn't get really cold for long periods.

Los Angeles Ca and go to USC or UCLA. The beaches, the mountains and the desert are all within 20 minutes to a couple hours. Sunny and nice but traffic sucks.

This is not a joke.... Milwaukee.

If you can handle the winters (they're really not that bad) Milwaukee is a GREAT city. Massive amounts of parks and recreation, largest and most music festivals of any city in the world. The people are really nice, we just got a new police chief and he is really cleaning up the rougher areas. GREAT colleges in the area (UW-Milwaukee, Marquette, Carrol College, Alverno, and a great tech college system).
Milwaukee was recently rated the number 2 nightlife city in the country behind Vegas, great clubs and bars and an awesome local music scene. Take a look at the East Side of Milwaukee for housing, that area still has a real neighborhood feel.

I've lived several places and Milwaukee is the best!!

Oh, and cost of living is about 60% that of Atl or Boston maybe even less.

I went to school at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR and loved it! The city is a great size, with tons of things to do right there in town and it's only 20 min from Little Rock. Conway's a quaint town with lots of shops and restaurants and tons of little parks all around.

Eugene Oregon is nice, or Corvallis, they each have good universities, very clean, nice cities. Near the coast and mountains, many open fields and parks.

Its a great city!! prices moderate for a city.. its larger, cleaner, and has great parks... oh heck with the cold, you got 5 out of 6!
