There is tons to do for fun in Oregon. Down south there are sand dunes to go riding at and camping. Further north there is the forested areas which are great for hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, hiking, dirt bikes, ATVs, and off road vehicles. There are tons of lakes, rivers and streams which are good for swimming, fishing, boating, and canoeing. Some people brave the cold waters of the ocean for surfing and wind sailing. Portland has clubs and bars for a great nightlife scene. There are tons of music venues for any level of musician. We have a pro basketball team, and minor league teams in hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. Saturday Market is very unique and lots of fun. Of course there are the usual things like bowling alleys, movie theaters and pool halls. We also have a good selection of mountains for snowboarding and skiing. And of course plenty of places for shopping, and we don't have a sales tax! In all reality we have it all! |

shop, see concerts,go to museums, read, ski, bike, go camping, go to the zoo, go waterskiing, go to the beach, watch or play sports, climb mountains,go to the gym, go to movies, go clubbing, join book or writing groups, go out to eat.....
Portland is actually really fun....but as Klaus said, we do have a big drug problem here. Prostitution, homeless, and unemployment problems, too. They all go hand in hand. |

Chess. Visit Aquarium Village in Newport, Oregon. Go shopping at cool, unique stores. Check out the manatees and feed them. Library. Same stuff everyone else does. Oregon isn't bad. I lived there for six months. It was nice. :) Newport rocks!
Go hunting, too! |

When I was there I roller skated and a ton of average activities, just like everyone else. But, the main activity is going to the beach. It's really nice at the beach there. :) |

I was born and raised in Oregon and my wife too, we now live in Alaska. People do alot of things in Oregon for fun including going to Mt Hood, fishing, hiking, sports, bicycling, the Pacific Coast is close by, camping, skiing at Mt Hood, windsurfing on the Columbia River, sports, river rafting, Pendleton Roundup, enjoying the beautiful Columbia Gorge scenic route, shopping in downtown Portland and Eugene, visiting the zoo, etc. There is alot of fun things to do in Oregon! Especially if you love the rain. In the Willamette Valley they raise alot of grapes and have Wine Festivals as well. |

Us Oregonians do the same things other states do for fun. Except, we're more able to hunt, fish, ski, hike, camp, snowboard, etc. more than the other states do. :P |

We hike, backpack, kyak, and bike. We are very outdoorsy here. We snowshoe, ski, snowboard, and rock climb. We summit our local mountains (Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, etc) and we love to explore caves. In town, we drink great micro brews and enjoy awesome local wine. We love our second run movie theateres where one can drink a beer, eat pizza, and watch a movie. We go dancing and we love our music scene...live bands and djs. We drink some of the best coffee in the world (Stumptown has won many accolades so has Albina Press) and we love to read and look at books in Powells. We love to cook and have some of the best restaurants in the country here. |
