Utah is a fantastic place. I visited there two summers ago for the first time and stayed there for about two weeks. This past summer, I spent the entire summer out there. I've come to love the place so much that as soon as I get married in May, my wife and I will be moving there. There are other reasons behind our move as well, but the beauty of Utah and the friendliness of its people do not hurt the situation one bit. I'm way excited to actually live there.

I'm not sure I would want to live there. I'm a city girl and there are enough big urban areas to suit me. However, I think some of these people answering have never been to Utah. It is incredibly beautiful if you like desert and mountainous landscapes. Utah is the home to Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Moab, and Arches. I have been to Zion, Monument Valley, and Bryce. They were gorgeous! We hiked and climbed all ober Zion. I recommend checking out the weather before you go. You don't want to go during the rainest times because they have some serious flash floods. Also, there are canyons that are only accessible during certain months. So, depending on what you want to do, a little sleuthing is necessary.

Then, there is skiing / snowboarding. Utah has some fabulous resorts with great snow. Need I say more?

I think most still ambulatory people could find somthing to love about Utah. However, it is not a place for couch potatoes.

I loved the Canyon Lands and the more rugged parts

There are tons of things to do in Utah, Mtn Bike, hike, 4x4 camp, rock climb, raft, ski and on and on. It is not cold where I live. We have dumb alcohol laws but it is not a strict state.

Utah has some of the most beautiful places on earth Arches, Cayonlands, Zions National Parks

i like Utah - I used to live there. I hate winter so I'm glad i'm not there now. It is an amazingly beautiful and diverse place with a LOT of great world-class outdoor recreation opportunities. In Salt Lake City there is a decent art, culture, and music scene. The sundance film festival is ther every January/February and that is pretty cool.
